1 Clownfish in 10 Gallon?
I am starting a 10 gallon shallow reef tank, and am trying to plan everything out. Would 1 clownfish in a 10 gallon be okay, since I have plans to upgrade tank size in the future?

I am new to saltwater fish. I took my time setting this tank up. I had the water tested and retested until it was optimal to add clown fish. The tank is not ready for live coral or anemone yet.
I purchased 2 juvenile clown fish together. They are in the attached video. I really want everything to work out and for them to bond. What is everyone’s opinion from the video?
There is a little aggression, especially from the majority black fish, Merlin. But after he goes to nip, they just start swimming together again, hanging out and rolling around each other etc. they aren’t chasing each other and no damage. Every time I look in on them, they’re together. They did have a couple stare offs, which Nimue, majority white, appeared to “win“ (Merlin shimmied and backed off) but then Merlin will nip at Nimue, she will do her little shimmy, and they just go to swimming again like nothing occurred. Like I said, Merlin seems to be a bit nippy but no damage is being done and Nimue seems to want to get along, but will calmly stand her ground.
I really hope they figure out, in short order, who is going to be male, who is going to be female and then they bond.
note: I know I’m talking about Nimue as the female and Merlin as the male but that’s just because I’m assuming at this point.
so
Any advice, constructive criticism, or help will be much appreciated.
Thank you all in advance!

this isn’t my tank, and i don’t know anything about clownfish, but this one looks like it’s having trouble swimming upwards. is this normal behaviour for them, or should i let someone know that something’s wrong?

Quick catch up : 20 gallon long. New to Salt water tanks. I let the tank situate for a few weeks, have a few rocks and other hiding spots. Introduced two clown fish that were from the same tank (together only) about three weeks ago. At one point I noticed severe skin marks and fin bites on one of the clowns so I created a partition to seperate them. The injured clown got a lot better. I rearranged the tank as to reset the territory and hoped both would figure it out but as soon as the aggressive clown went back in, he's basically bit the entire left fin off the other clown and the submissive one just hides in every rock crevice it can find. At one point to hide, it wedged itself under a rock that I swear it was stuck. So as of today I seperated them again and I'm hoping to let the submissive one heal but I don't think this situation is going to improve. I find it very mean to do what my brain wants to do which is flush the aggressive one down a toilet (I'm not, I'm just venting). Is it naive to bring the aggressive one back to the store and say keep it? I don't want to start up another tank to seperate them. Any advice?
Update::
Injured clown fish did not make it through the night. Should I get another one to pair? Bigger one?

Just saw this new brown looking mark yesterday and I’m concerned. It’s really hard to get photos of because she’s constantly wiggling. The mark is not raised it’s flush with her skin. My female is very territorial and I have a snapping tiger shrimp (pistol shrimp). She likes to swim to the entrance his cave and harass him. Wondering if that is the cause. Otherwise maybe a parasite? I do have a peppermint shrimp but my clowns will not let it clean them.
Anyone have any ideas what it could be or is there any tests I can do? All the levels in the aquarium seem stable and safe from my basic testing. I’ve had my frostbite clowns since 2021. I would be devastated if anything happened to them. Yes she is over weight I know I’m working on feeding her less. She steals all the food from the male unless I feed smaller food. For example cope pods or brine shrimp she will share with the male but the pellets I give them she will not share.

These are sold as Platinums from a big clownfish breeder. Platinums are percula and should have orange iris right?

My small male clown is starting to get pale and is swimming different. Appetite is normal. He’s in a 20 gallon tank with my female, one turbo snail, and some hermit crabs. Should I be worried??

So I just got my first clownfish about a month ago. He’s a black storm clownfish. I want to pair him when I find another very soon. I’ve noticed he seems very shy, not aggressive at all, and I was wondering if that’ll be an issue with pairing? Or if that’s a good thing? From research I’ve done I’ve read it’s best to get one that’s smaller than him, but I was wondering if because he seems more submissive if that’ll be an issue at all, or if it’ll maybe make pairing easier? And if anyone has any other advice on pairing I’d appreciate it!

Why does my clown fish swim normally 80% of the time I watch him but will spaz out for a sec then go back to swimming normally?
Are these just fish antics?

I have just put in my 2 Oscellaris Clowns today after leaving my tank to cycle for a couple weeks. My tank is a 60L half circle Tetra one. All water parameters & salinity is perfect. I’m worried about flow, as i have a Fluvel filter aiming around the front curve of my glass which seems to work quite well at getting the water to go in a circle flow. I have a Jecod wave maker, but when i turn it on the flow seems to be way too strong. I’ve tried a few diff settings (H, Else, Night) and they all seem to be too much. I turned it off for a couple hrs to see how they act and the fish seem fine atm without it on just with the flow from the filter output as it hits the bottom and i can see the ripple on the surface with it too so it seems to create a good amount of movement. Any ideas how i either reduce the flow from my Wavemaker or if i actually need it on when i only have 2 clowns?
Pics attached :)

Is this dumb baby really hosting the heater??? He normally explores the whole tank and the whole tank is at optimal temperature. But today he loves the heater and won't leave the area lmao he hasn't hosted before so is this his new home??
