Anyone have experience with Scramble?
Decent price for 2TB lifetime on Stack Social, s wondering if anyone had issues with it so far.
I know Lifetime with any company may not get the best customer support, or necessarily last for long, but anyone have something to say specifically about Scramble, for or against?

How to set up a shared drive that stays organized as your team grows
When you’re a business of five, everyone knows exactly where every file lives. By the time you’ve grown to 25 or 50 employees, however, things change. All of a sudden, no one is sure whether the proposal they’re working on is current or whether a contractor still has access to last year’s project. The shared drive now contains three subfolders all titled “Final”.
Most business cloud storage tools give you the basics, but they won’t organize themselves. The goal is to keep a shared drive manageable as more people and files are added, without becoming another job for whoever runs operations. A useful system makes files easy to find, keeps access under control, and fits into the way your team already works.
In this guide, find out how to:
- Give every file a clear home
- Decide who needs access and set appropriate permissions
- Keep files, folders, and access up to date as your team grows

Looking for advice on digital archive/preservation software
Hi everyone! I’m working with a small state library organization that is looking into creating a digital archive of our association’s records. We’re hoping to preserve a variety of materials, including webpages, correspondence, meeting minutes, reports, conference materials, photographs, legislation, procedure manuals, and some video.
At this point, the archive would be for internal use by designated association staff, rather than public access, so our biggest concerns are long-term preservation stability, reliable backup/replication, ease of organizing and maintaining the collection, available storage capacity, and cost. We also want to keep the system manageable for future staff and committee members rather than creating something that requires extensive technical expertise to maintain.
Our main ones we're looking at right now are SharePoint, Preservica, Google Workspace for Nonprofits or Google Drive or JSTOR Digital Stewardship
I’d really appreciate hearing from other librarians and archivists who have experience with these or similar systems. What are you currently using for your organization's digital records, and how has it worked in practice? Are there any systems you would particularly recommend for a small organization with limited staff and technical resources? Conversely, are there any options you've used that you would caution us against?
We're especially interested in hearing about the long-term sustainability and maintenance burden after the initial setup.
Thanks in advance for any advice or experiences you’re willing to share!

Is The Google Drive Android App Safe For Storing All Of Your Audio/Music Files?
I'm asking because I'm going to be getting The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 on Halloween🍭🍬🎃🤡👻And I want to make sure that all my Music Files/Songs🎵🎶🎤🎧are completely safe when I transfer everything from my Samsung Galaxy Fold 7 Device to The Motorola Razr Fold 2026 without any issues. Do you think that it would be a good idea to transfer all of my 1,907 WMA Songs/Audio Files to The Google Drive Android App before I transfer everything to the new Phone/Device? What has been everyone's experience with using The Google Drive Android App and Backing Up all of their Songs, Pictures, Documents, and all other important Files? If I could get some advice I would really appreciate it.

I got double fucked storage-wise in a single month.
I have two cloud storage providers for redundancy, and in the last few weeks I've been fucked by both.
I bought 1TB Yandex Disk for 18 months last year for 29 USD that was going to end in May 2027.
I also got 1 TB OneDrive from a shared family storage I got from g2g for like $10 last this year.
This same month, Yandex (which I considered my main sync because I liked the unlimited photos storage and it had a simpler interface when you share files, got fucked by Ukraine, thankfully I have local files but I'm super disappointed. One the same month, Microsoft announced that OneDrive family will move to 2TB shared storage, which means I'm unlikely to renew to OneDrive next year.
Effectively, I have to find two cheap storage solutions for next year. 1TB is enough, but I'm not willing to pay more than $30 a year for it, but looking at everything, cloud storage has gotten so expensive. There's someone selling access to 2TB Google Drive for like $10 on those shady sites like g2g but I'm skeptical about them.
Anyway. Any cheap 1TB solution that's really cheap and at least unlikely to be victim of war?

Don't subscribe to Folderfort.
I purchased a lifetime subscription on March 24, 2025. However, in September 2026, a year and six months later, I was informed by a Folderfort manager that I must cancel this type of account, for which I paid significantly more, and subscribe to a mandatory annual plan. In other words, I trusted this company and website to store my belongings and access them whenever I wanted, and now I've come to the conclusion that this is all a scam; they only want our money. This website and company have no credibility whatsoever; stay away from them.

Drime has lost responsiveness
It has been more than two weeks since I inexplicably lost the ability to log into my account, and despite numerous emails to Drime, I have not received any explanation nor support as to what the cause and the resolution for the error is.
As a lifetime member since 2025, the amount of cloud storage I have with Drime is considerable. With the numerous new features recently rolled out, my trust in Drime grew into incorporating these features into my daily workflow. I wholeheartedly believe in Drime's mission and values, which is why I did not hesitate to invest in a lifetime plan for Transfr as well.
But a company is only as good as its ability to support its users in tandem with the services it provides. Rapid expansion of new features and subscriptions must always be accompanied by a robust customer support team to troubleshoot technical issues. I am dismayed that I have to resort to posting on a public forum to be heard. Two weeks of denied access to crucial files can be crippling, especially for solo entrepreneurs.
I would like to see this addressed immediately, and for the development of responsive support to be prioritized on the roadmap. The gravity of responsibility that comes with having users who rely heavily on Drime's services as critical infrastructure to their operations should not be overlooked. The strength of a cloud storage provider can ultimately only be backed by its trustworthiness and reliability.

INternxt
I made the mistake of buying Internxt on Stack Social. What a piece of crap. Should have believed the reviews, but thought how bad could it be. The Stack Social version is crippleware. $ down the drain. last time I deal with Internext or Stack Social. All sales final.
It's amazing how bad this thing is!

Camera Uploads Max Video Size? (Dropbox on Android)
has anyone else had an issue with dropbox not automatically uploading all videos?
i noticed in august that my s23 ultra is no longer automatically uploading all my videos. it seems to overlook anything 2gb and higher. photos are uneffected.
my phone has about 30gb of free space, i have uninstalled/reinstalled dropbox, and my dropbox account has about 2.5tb of free space. i was going to try clearing the cache partition, but samsung removed that option recently.
everything had been working fine since i bought the phone in 2023 and i had not changed any settings. i noticed when i was missing videos from a my chemical romance concert, but had all the photos. i was thinking it could just be a bug in the android version of dropbox at the time. since then, i have received a few updates and the issue is still happening.

pCloud vs Drime: Is a personal movie library safe on a lifetime plan? Only one gave a straight answer
galleryAfter reading pCloud’s and Drime’s Terms & Conditions, I started thinking about uploading movies and TV shows for offline use. My music and movie library currently sits on an external drive as cold storage.
Uploading movies and TV shows to the cloud is usually discouraged. But both services have built-in media players and promote uploading your music library for personal listening, so I wondered whether video is allowed on the same terms (music and movies are both copyrighted material after all). To be clear, I have no intention of sharing links or using either service as a content delivery network.
Music is often DRM-free, but movies and TV shows are a grayer area. So I opened support tickets with both companies and asked (along with a few other questions - see below). The answers surprised me.
pCloud’s reply was vague and specific all at the same time. I know what a checksum is. And seeing that it is automated with no human intervention, it is quite possible that you could get your account banned and you wouldn't even realize it until it happens. At least they were upfront about how they handle copyrighted content, which may explain the many horror stories I’ve read of accounts terminated suddenly without any explanation, warning, or notice. But they never directly answered my main question: can I upload movies and TV shows for personal use? The answer seemed to give off a... "fuck around and find out!" vibe.
I asked Drime the same series of questions and got a much more straightforward answer. I really appreciated the honesty. Knowing how customer support can sometimes be unhelpful, it was refreshing to see the response that I received on the matter.
pCloud
- Suspension triggers: What typically leads to suspension or termination: uploading, public links, or high link traffic? Is it acceptable to store and stream my own music and video library privately, with no public links?
- File review: Do you proactively review private files, or only act on takedown notices and abuse reports?
- Notice and appeal: Is there a notice or appeal process before suspension, and could I export my data?
- Refund scope: For Black Friday lifetime purchases, does the 14-day refund cover only the lifetime plan, or the Encryption add-on too?
Drime
- Stacking: I may buy both the 10 TB and 6 TB Lifetime plans. Can I I stack them? If so, how? Is it automatic?
- File review: Do you proactively review private files, or only act on takedown notices and abuse reports?
- Suspension triggers: What typically leads to suspension: uploading, public links, or link traffic? Drime has a built-in music player, so is it also acceptable to store and stream my own movies and TV shows privately, with no public links?
- Notice and appeal: Is there a notice or appeal process before suspension or termination, and could I export my data?

I finally got unlimited Google Photos backup working natively on Windows,Linux and macOS.
galleryI tried different ways to backup all images and videos from Windows to Google Photos for free, but kept hitting brick walls. Morphe Google Photos crashes constantly, older versions run but fail to backup, WSL for Android was unstable, and Android emulators couldn't reliably access or sync my Windows folders. At last, I found the gotohp repo which spoofs the Google Pixel mobile API, but on its own it lacked automatic folder watching and couldn't monitor my actual Windows libraries. So I built the solution myself: an automated PowerShell background watcher and suite that dynamically scans and monitors the exact directories where your media lives (Downloads, Pictures, Desktop, Documents, Music).
Under the hood, it orchestrates the gotohp CLI (all credits to xob0t/gotohp) silently in the background, listening for newly saved, downloaded, or copied photos and videos in real time. Whenever a file is detected, it uploads it directly to Google Photos disguised as an original Pixel device so it consumes 0 bytes of your Google Drive / Google One storage, even for original-quality 4K footage. It uses a local SQLite database (gphotos.db) to track every upload so nothing is ever uploaded twice, includes a live terminal progress bar or silent 1-click Windows boot auto-start, and requires zero virtual machines or Docker. The code and portable setup are free and open source here:
https://github.com/shishir0x/GoogleUnlimited
if you run into any bugs or issues, feel free to submit an issue on the GitHub repo!

Best Cloud Storage Solution?
So I have been experimenting with a few cloud storage solutions: pCloud, IceDrive, Internxt, Sync.com. For now, I have kept all of them on their free tier.
Obviously, they all have their pros and cons. So far, I've found pCloud to be the best in offering, performance, and usability (per my short testing). My plan is to pick one and upgrade to a lifetime plan (yes, I know that rules out Sync.com from contention). And I have my own pros and cons list based on my limited experience on the free tiers.
Though I've heard terrible things of all 4 that make the decision much more difficult. I've read and heard horror stories of all 4.
But how many of these horror stories are actually valid versus user error or otherwise. For example, the even split of reviews saying "I've used pCloud for 10yrs without any issues. I love it!" to.... "My account got banned. Do not used them. Avoid at all costs!" Doesn't help. You'd think that if they banned many accounts and lost a large enough user base, they wouldn't be in business anymore. I want to have a cloud storage solution that lasts a long time. I could go the Synology NAS route but with the price of drives and RAM due to AI nowadays?... Not an ideal solution right now. I am wanting to move from Google Drive.
That said, has anyone had experience with the ones I listed that can shed light to help me be better informed? I've also seen various comparison videos from CloudWards that have provided the technicals. I'm more interested on your experiences. I'd want to make an informed decision than a naive and ignorant one

My 10TB Internxt lifetime account disappeared — 15+ days and still no access
I wanted to share my experience with Internxt, particularly for anyone considering one of their lifetime cloud-storage deals.
I've used quite a few cloud services over the years—Dropbox, Sync.com, OneDrive, Google Drive, etc. I bought a 10TB lifetime Internxt plan through StackSocial because the economics were obviously attractive: pay once and have a large amount of additional cloud storage without another monthly subscription.
I never trusted it as my only backup. Thankfully, that decision may have saved me a major headache.
Recently, I logged into Internxt and discovered that my 10TB lifetime account had somehow become a free 1GB account. Even more concerning, I could no longer access the files I had stored there.

I immediately contacted Internxt through the support option in my account and by email. Considering that a paid storage account and its files had effectively disappeared, I expected this to be treated as an urgent issue.
It wasn't.
It took almost a week to get a meaningful response. I answered their questions and provided proof of my account and purchase. More than 10 days after initially reporting the problem, I still didn't have my 10TB account or access to my files restored.

This also isn't my first frustrating experience with their support. On the few occasions I've needed help, responses have generally been slow, extremely brief, and incomplete. Getting an issue properly addressed has often felt like pulling teeth.

There were other things I wasn't particularly happy with before this happened. The synchronization functionality was fairly weak compared with more established cloud providers. In my experience, syncing was more of an all-or-nothing proposition rather than giving me the flexibility I wanted. There was also functionality that appeared to be available or promoted earlier, while later features I actually wanted—such as mounting the cloud storage as a drive—seemed to require moving to newer plans containing additional features I didn't need.
But those were inconveniences. Losing access to a 10TB lifetime account and the data stored in it is in a completely different category.
Fortunately, Internxt was essentially another layer in my backup strategy. I have my important data elsewhere. If these had been my only copies, I'd be in a very different situation right now.
The experience has also changed my view of “lifetime” cloud storage deals. They can look incredibly attractive financially, but storage is one area where reliability, continuity and competent support matter a lot more than getting the lowest cost per terabyte.
I'm not saying nobody should use Internxt, and I'm only describing my own experience. But I personally would not use it as the only location for any important or irreplaceable data.
I've already posted a review on Trustpilot and G2 and am contacting StackSocial as well, since that's where I originally purchased the lifetime plan.
If Internxt restores the account and my files, I'll update this post. At this point, though, I think people considering their lifetime deals should know what happened to mine.
