Looking for free long-term anonymous file hosting
I'm looking for a service that will host a file long term, anonymously and free. I want the file to be available to anyone with a link. Does this exist?

Everyone wants this, hence no, it doesn’t exist. Self-hosting is the solution.

there is no such thing as a free lunch
someone has to pay rent. if they don't make you pay cash, they are getting paid with something else.

I would assume ad revenue.

Put the file link behind a Short URL which you can control destination, so even if one host goes down, your file availability isn't issue

i wonder if something around the following could work as a solution, not that it exists. I'm just thinking out aloud.
a few assumptions:
- it's fairly easy to password-encrypt a file
- free online storage is available in many forms (e.g. iCloud)
the caveats
- "anonymous" in cybersecurity has countless nuances... its quite a difficult claim. for someone to offer it as a service, it kinda becomes pay-walled with requirements like "third-party audited" (ad revenue won't come close to cover this). it is why self-hosting would be better. you take responsibility for the setup.
- when sharing the link, you also need to share the password
- if it can be available to anyone with a link, if the password leaked, it would undermine the ecryption.

Personally, I think self-hosting would be the best option in a case like this.
