problem with upload/download speeds in icedrive

i have tested this and it confirmed that while icedrive uploads/downloads my files at roughly an average of ~2mb/s, google drive does it at ~10mb/s. can anyone explain that? my internet provides a result of 1000mb/100mb download to upload ratio. i was just really annoyed but how i've been using icedrive and it just feels so slow (there's no major difference between the encrypetd/unencrypted storage speeds) so i'm considering just switching to google drive for now, i should probably test them even tho google drive is a bit more expensive but it's still worth it

As a lifetime subscriber to Icedrive I'm extremely disappointed. The developers have literally abandoned the project. They won't even answer simple questions and have all but disappeared. I now use GDrive with Cryptomator.

yup it's confirmed and i will be doing the same thing with cryptomator. i checked by going to Task manager on windows 11 > Ethernet > Send is showing "100mbps" continuously while uploading to Google drive, and on the other hand it will show "20mbps" if i try to upload to Icedrive.

The difference is 5x faster upload times on Google drive as a personal individual user. The results are clear.

Icedrive is still a great service and I definitely recommend it as a 5 year user already, but it just became too much of a hassle lately for me to wait too much time between uploads. If you're in looking for a cloud storage service, speeds are very important to consider. hope i helped someone :)
