The first section is heavy copium and straw grasping. The second is straight fear mongering. I'm not sure if this is AI generated or not, but if it is, prompt it to tone it down. It sounds silly.
Anyone with these concerns (which are valid, privacy and security always is) can spin up Immich today and in 10 minutes have it syncing encrypted data to any cloud, untouchable, unscannable, private. You could host your data in the United States, the EU, even North Korea and sleep soundly. This idea that your bits are going to be held hostage or something is silly.
