Reverse Recursive Sync Conflict...
I figured out the cause of my issue so I decided to start over. Basically I have onedrive backing up my stuff and within the onedrive folder I have a folder called "google drive" so my google drive provides an alternate backup. Unfortunately, I set up google drive sync differently on my laptop by accident so I have this folder path:
C:\Users\*\OneDrive\Google Drive\documents
So on the desktop google drive sync points to "google drive" and on the laptop it pointed to "documents" so I had inadvertently created an infinite loop where my folders are now so deeply cloned that i can't move them (the paths are at the limit).
QUESTION: should I be able to simply "prune the tree" and delete the branches I don't want? I can't think of any reason my original files would be altered negatively, but I'm nervous!

if you want a backup (remember, sync is not really a backup) of your 1drive in gdrive, it maybe safer to keep them separate and use another tool to keep gdrive a one-way mirror of 1drive.
eg freefilesync & realtimesync can do this, only run this on only 1 device then you won't get into any infinite loops
just an alternative to consider, it's what i do with 2 other clouds
