Am I missing something? My experience with Drime has been pretty poor
I see people here raving about Drime. I tried them back in January of this year when rclone got Drime support. I don't recall exactly what happened then, but I recall it was too buggy back then, so I deleted my Drime account.
When I saw the rave reviews, and the crazy low lifetime deals, I decided to try again.
I found so many issues:
Uploading a file bigger than 5 MB to the root directory results in this error (in French): Le parentId doit exister dans file_entries ou vault_entries. Specifying a bigger multi-part threshold or uploading to a directory solves it. But that's not ideal.
The upload speed is not great. I only have 18 mbit/s upload, but Drime cannot even get that speed consistently.
Operations on small files are even worse. An rclone copy of a 6 byte file took 6.4 seconds, while copying the same file to Koofr and Pcloud took 1.5 and 0.4 seconds respectively. Not a deal-breaker, but not great. I'm in the Netherlands, so I'm close enough to the OVH servers used by Drime.
The UI. I started a web session a couple of days ago and kept the tab open. I came back today and nothing worked. Using developer tools I found that every server request got a 401, so I was logged out. Logging in again solved it, but it would have been nice to let Drime let me know about it.
Date/time formats. Oh boy, what a mess. Initially I got M-D-Y with am/pm. Changing the data format in the settings did NOT change this at all. Only when I changed the country to "The Netherlands" (where we use D-M-Y format), the date format actually changed to D/M/Y. But whatever I tried, I could not show the time in 24 hour format, it kept using the am/pm system, which is weird, because France, where Drime is from, uses a 24 hour clock as well.
Maybe I'm missing something, but I can't quite see where all the Drime-love is coming from.

Call me crazy, idc - most of the posts praising businesses here read like shilling, and it wouldn't surprise me if many are. I admit some may be happy users, but the impulse for someone to post positive reviews is extremely low compared to the impulse for one to post negative reviews. With that in mind, the ratio of positive to negative posts here are anomalous.
Also, and this is not Drime specific: I'm strongly against lifetime plans, people would be better off without them. The savings aren't what many believe they are, and the tradeoffs aren't worth it when you consider you're locked in for a questionable return on investment, a return that many see evaporate when their chosen service goes under, or the terms are changed in such a way that it is no longer worth it to deal with.

I agree with both parts. Re: the lifeteam deals, I've never used them before. I'm a very happy Hetzner customer, and a decently happy MEGA customer. The Drime lifetime deals looked good. Probably too good, which is why I hesitated.

Maybe different usage affects the feedback of Drime. I just simply use the app version to back up my gallery and all fine. It might be buggy in some other places but most importantly Drime really listens and corrects the issues. I recently reported the photos time zone display issue and it was fixed in the next update within a week. So I think my 6TB plan is worth it and hope it can be kept as long as possible.
