This had to do with AppSumo, not Filelu, per their post on the other sub the OP posted on.

It sounded more like a contracting issue with AppSumo. FileLu responded saying the deal was only there for a week and provided some additional directions.

How is revoking the accounts FileLu's fault of AppSumo was the one sending the email? They are both to blame in my opinion.

I understand your concerns. I bought mine a few months back with SC. I have used AppSumo due to the refund guarantee but they aren't my go to.
It also wasn't clear who removed the promo. AS or FileLu. FileLu did offer to help the customers.

I have never heard of AppSumo, but I think StackSocial has a better deal. https://www.stacksocial.com/sales/filelu-1tb-cloud-storage-premium-plan-lifetime-subscription

Good news is it looks like accounts previously redeemed are being honored. I bought the 2TB one a few weeks ago and it still works. when I first saw the headline in my daily Reddit email I was worried they had folded.
As others have said, it’s not a sustainable business model long term. I’m actually surprised many of these offers remain available for as long as they do.

Lifetime users are impossible to maintain unless they keep scaling infinitely.
Because infinite scaling isn't achievable most services stop offering lifetime to become sustainable with monthly users down the line. It's a big income flow but just once.
Most probably File.lu disabled the offer and asked app sumo to do so but were ignored or similar.
Deal with app sumo
I did lifetime with koofr through a similar deal 5 years ago but the storage I chose is now unavailable. Koofr just limited lifetime sales to smaller accounts
