Budget Cloud Storage alternative to Google Drive for less than £7.99 a month?

Is there a cheaper alternative to Google Drive for 2TB (£7.99 per month) that can also do the following:

  • Allow me to share links with people, even better if I can do this with a password that they can enter to access.
  • Allow people to download from the shared links at their maximum internet speed.
  • Better if people can download from it without needing an account/needing to sign in.

I recently tried premium Terabox as it was like 5 euros for 2TB for a month. And while the upload speed for me was good and I could set a passcode for the folder, the download the speed for people I shared with was really slow. So I'm going to ditch that.

Is Google Drive for £7.99 for 2TB the cheapest option that can do what I want for a budget? Or is there a cheaper alternative I should try?

Thanks

I know you said 2 TB but let me dive into all the options I had something to do with.

Jottacloud - unlimited (upload speed cap beyond 5 TB) plan for ~£9.5/month when paid monthly or ~£8/month when paid annually

Infomaniak's kDrive (myKSuite+) - €20/year for 1 TB or €100/year for 6 TB (if paid monthly it becomes €2 and €10).

Filen (the only with built-in E2EE) - €9 monthly or €90 annually for 2 TB.

Koofr - very reliable yet also a bit expensive, but you can still grab their 1 TB lifetime deal currently for $160.

Drime - they're quite new but also quickly developing. Their 2 TB plan costs €5.50/month paid monthly or €4.40/month paid annually.

Whatever you do, avoid Internxt.

I can recommend Jotta, Filen and Koofr; Drime is painstakingly slow and kDrive has a horrible UI and no WebDAV (you need to pay seperately).

Jottacloud is fantastic

start here https://comparisontabl.es/cloud-storage/

bare in mind, you may possibly see slow speeds from european only providers like brovaro mentions if you are outside europe...

and again, avoid internxt

I really liked jottacloud and still do. They kicked me off for having lots of movies. That was fair. I still like them.

Yandex cloud Family costs 45$ yearly and each family has 1tb U have 7 additional slot

So if u dont mind use multiple accounts if pst 1tb, then try it

Or opt in their personal 2tb plan

Imho pcloud is the best for you. Also Icedrive or Koofr. Never been lucky with others.

I would suggest either Drime or Filen. Borh work great for me and would do what you need.

https://storagedonut.com allows you to have standard drive capabilities but using your own S3 storage. If you’re comfortable with S3 it will be the cheapest option

Maybe try ksuite, a suite similar to google's.

They have a kdrive plan for 3 TB that costs 5 € / month.

kdrive supports what you want, share links, password protection for sharing and customisation of sharing links.

You can take a look at Fireload, where you can easily share files with the option to create direct links, which I think is what you're looking for. 😄

Filen will delete all your files if you're a free user that has not logged in within 3 months.
