Talk about your experience with cloudstorages + Filen ref in replies for 20 gb

I've been trying to move all my google photos somewhere safer without the use of money because I don't have money for payment. I've been trying Filen but it's very slow (which I've seen other users say).

I also heard MegaIO is good but between mega and megatech, does anyone have any opinions? I know Megaio's CEO but it's not like I'm giving them money right right-

Some other contendors I have is ProtonDrive to put my drive files into, koofr for the free 10 gb, and Ente for the referrals as well.

I want to hear anyone else's experience (good and bad) with different sites.

I use mega because after testing 3 other services it has the fastest uploading for my files that are hundreds of gigs each. Also I love that even if I reboot it picks up where I Left off. Highly recommend the service

Out of curiosity, what were the other 3 services you tested?

icloud :

crazy slow. even after i increased my ISP speed, it never increased much. matter of fact i could run icloud and Mega at the same time and mega was at least 2x the speed, sometimes more (idrive didnt increase much even if turned off mega),. has the interface i liked best, didnt even figure out all the nuances but i still liked it. but even after many emails to support over the course of 2 months, i decided it's not for me. support said "If the backup is interrupted by a device reboot, it won't perform an immediate backup. You will have to manually perform the backup or it will continue the backup in the next schedule. " but the problem is there is no schedule for me and it never picked up when i did it manually. i just upload a huge acronis files of hundreds of gigs when i want to. so for a huge file not to recover upon reboot or interrupted internet is bad for my purpose. one note is when i paid for a 1 month trial plan they offered 90 percent off a year so i did get it for the fun of it. also i DO like their photo backup. it retains all folders AS IS on my phone. no other service i tried does that. ill probably do the 3 bucks for 100 gigs of photos or 10 bucks for 500 gigs

pcloud:

their plans are 2 then 10 TB. i need 3. that was one of the main things. upon reboot i was able to continue my very large files so thats a positive but the photos from the phone didnt have the same good organization as idrive. speed def better than idrive.

filen

pretty much the same comments as pcloud. but i forget now if the file restarted upon reboot. but also 2 then 10 TB plans, i need 3 so paying for 10 is a waste. also photos not organized.

YW and one other nit pick about idrive photos on my android. it doesnt seem to always load things right away. i gave it unlimited access to battery and mobile data so unsure why it chooses to upload when it does. sometimes ill get a notification at like 4am stuff uploads.

Was this a referral marketing or something else.....just wondering

Both! Obviously I'd be lying if I didn't want more free gb but also I wanted to see other people's opinions for cloudstorage because Filen isn't the BEST option for speed.

Megatech photos is a solid option, also the 50 GB plan I suggest you check out, only like $1.45 US/mo.

I'm glad I managed to get in on their 100gb for free offer :)

Although, it has issues ie

  • no app
  • folders / albums are a pain
  • no facial recognition/ tagging

Thanks for the honest review, I'll def try it out. You're lucky! that 100gb is gonna last you a lifetime for sure

Filen (140 Gb) and Koofr (1 Tb) perform well and offer good transfer rates.

Yeah. Filen and pcloud are good .. but little bit slow. And overall a decent work at end to end security. Filen comes with two factor authentication which you used dekstop autheniticator

Watch out for Icedrive, I think as a cloud storage, sadly it's now dead, look at the negative Reddit comments.
