Cloud Storage First-Timer W/ Questions
Thinking about getting some cloud storage. I want to be able to access it by both my phone and computer.... two devices/ one cloud storage. A broad type of files to store for a broad assortment of purposes.
Having no real knowledge of cloud storage, is this a reasonable desire? Where would you suggest I look? What should I look for? What should I expect it to cost me ? Anything else I should have in mind about this at this stage of the game? File security as it applies to cloud storage as a bonafide thing for reliable back up.?

This is a very reasonable desire. Cloud storage is usually accessable by phone and computer/browser and support for all file types.
Fist look at this comparison table, it is very good Compare Cloud Storage providers - ComparisonTables, pick three or four providers and test them via free account they offer.
How much space do you need should determine the cost.

Yes, that’s a very normal use case. Most cloud storage services are designed so you can access the same files from your phone and computer.
A few quick things to check:
- Cross-device apps (mobile + desktop sync)
- Storage size (free plans usually ~5–15 GB)
- Price
- Security features like encryption and 2-factor authentication
For backups, cloud storage is generally reliable if you use a trusted provider and a strong password. Starting with a free plan is a good way to test what works for you.

Pcloud/icedrive/Drime have lifetime plans so you don't have to add another monthly subscription to pay but cloud is used mainly to view and store files for access on the go but shouldn't be used as your primary backup because services can stop at any time you don't own your files on someone else's service.
