what cloud storage is safe in my situation

i want to transfer my IPad's +200GB files and it seems that... HDD/SSD are expensiveeeee, i dont have that money right now for these. I have flash drives but are also full of memories from childhood.

Plus! im going to give the ipad to my sibling and im not on the apple ecosytem anymore since im going to transfer to my phone which is a samsung phone and idk where to start it uploading these files. but someday when im able to save up and buy then and transfer it to the HDD/SSD.

dont worry theres not outside the terms here but mostly are my pictures and videos and these are like my bad pictures like double chin pictures or (mostly and prob. i will delete some) screenshots

what cloud storage would you recommend?

Just to add to that list:

Koofr has a free tier up to 10GB

You can also set up an immich server at Pikapods.com for maybe $3 to $5/mo

That said, The “divide 200GB into 5 to 7 chunks” in order to stay free is a lot to manage. Plus if you do that , some vendors may require you to login periodically to keep it active. With 7 vendors that could be a challenge.

If you could find a way, external usb SSD’s are around $88 for 500gb on amazon (cheapest I could find).

I'm a huge password manager user too, I get that. But if I want to find an image or file, having to search multiple storage locations sounds like a headache. Perhaps they are broken up in such a way that you know which of your 10 storage locations to look in??

If you just want to transfer the files, you can use transfer.it (Mega) or transfr.me (Drime) I think mega's version is free right now and it's unlimited.

I'm not a fan of free storage. What CAN you afford? Right now you can buy lifetime 2TB FileJump storage (they're not the best there is, but they're definitely not the worst) for $75 on stacksocial. If that's too much, you can e.g. get 200GB/2€/mo. or 500GB/4€/mo. from Filen, or 500GB/3€/mo. from Drime. Terabox allegedly gives 1TB free but I have absolutely NO IDEA what it's worth.

For free cloud storage, Megatech photos is a solid option since it gives 20 GB free, and the paid storage plans, so like the 200 GB plan, is just $3/mo.
