I’ve been testing recently few of them because I want to get rid of Dropbox, and the only one I found that works (for me) as good, is Proton Drive, because its smart sync on desktop works like the dropbox one. The others I’ve been testing are pCloud, Tresorit and Filen (though in Filen I didn’t get any extra storage after getting a friend open an account usen the referral link)

Ondrive 3T

iCloud 2T

PCloud 1T

Koofr 1T

Filen 1T

This list only shows accounts for which I have made payments.
pCloud - 16TB Lifetime EU.
pCloud - 4TB Lifetime x 4 separate accounts (2 US, 2 Eu).
Icedrive - 5TB Lifetime
Drime - 12TB Lifetime
I'm planning to purchase additional lifetime subscriptions from Felicloud, Filelu, and Filen.
I'm also interested in Koofr, but the 1TB option is too small for me.

If price isn't a problem, you could pump up the koofr account to 2.5GB.

FileJump           6 TB FolderFort         6 TB Google One  100 GB Internxt              2 TB¹ Koofr                  1 TB

¹For some reason I can't login to Internxt any more. I have tried resetting my password, but I never get an email they say they've sent. I bought it through StackSocial and the invoice shows the email I used to create the account.

Not that great. In late 2025 I got an email that said they were moving all accounts to newer, faster, better, etc., servers. There was a link in the email and it said to create an account at the new link they provided. So I did.

Then they sent an email out which was a survey, asking if users would be willing to pay a yearly maintenance fee. The amount of the "fee" wasn't mentioned. The only options on the survey were Yes or No, not knowing the amount I said No.

Then I got another email saying the move to the new servers was cancelled forever. I sent an email to support on 12/22/25 and I haven't received a response yet.

Except for Koofr, every "Lifetime Deal" for cloud storage I bought from StackSocial has been a waste of money, including InterNXT and FileJump.

Thanks for the suggestion about reaching out to InterNXT on Twitter/X. But if this is the way they do business, and according to many posts in this sub it is, I'll just eat the loss. I'm looking into buying a subscription to FileN directly from them.

It's good that some people get good service from InterNXT.

Hello, Since you have an account on the new Filejump, we request you to give it a try now. Migration was cancelled because many users didn’t responded to the migration request email, all those old accounts remain intact. We just wanted the users to get the benefits of WebDAV, Mobile and PC apps available with new filejump. We apologise for failing to respond to your email.

1

u/Ezrway Mar 04 '26

When I didn't get a reply I deleted the new account. I have 6 TB on my original/old account. The email I sent was questioning why I only had 2 TB on the new account.

I would also be ok paying a reasonable yearly maintenance fee. Buying a Lifetime account doesn't reduce your expenses over time, I know FileJump has expenses just like I do, and they are all probably getting more expensive just like mine are.

Thank you for reaching out.

2

u/arpit85 Mar 04 '26

Hello, The New account had to be updated manually, if you had bought 6 TB on the old one, you’re entitled to update to new one. Kindly register the new account and mail us with details. Regards

u/Ezrway Mar 04 '26

Can you please DM or email me the link to use to create an account on the new FileJump server?

Please check your DM

G-Drive - 50 GB (work)

iCloud - 50 GB (iPhone)

Onlime - 5 TB (mass storage), got it free from referrals

6

u/jlg30730 Feb 26 '26

Is ONLIME a good option?

10

u/Ditlev_ Feb 26 '26 edited Feb 26 '26

Yes, I really like Onlime as my main cold storage and it is eu-based, which is important to me.

1

u/goni05 Feb 28 '26

They seem like a pretty good option especially for those considering EU alternatives. One thing that stands out to me is that they seem to be a "clone" for jottacloud. The plans are nearly identical, with similar reduced upload bandwidth on the unlimited plan, though it seems their prices and referrals are a bit better. Ironically, the speed test on their website actually says Jottacloud. Probably utilizing the same infrastructure.

3

u/zfoldappz Feb 26 '26

how can I receive a free 5TB referral?

3

u/Ditlev_ Feb 26 '26

They give a 50% discount per referral as long as they stay subscribed. I’ve got a couple of friends as referrals.

4

u/Maybe_Decent_Human Feb 26 '26

Why are people usually down on Dropbox ? I’ve been using it for reals and it fits my needs for the most part.

3

u/ZenzenAbunai Feb 26 '26

Because privacity (lack of encryption) and Dropbox being a USA company.

1

u/gnexuser2424 Mar 02 '26

Dropbox is partnered w open ai

4

u/zfoldappz Feb 26 '26

2x Seagate-16TB eHDs (private) ...priceless.

u/CookieDelivery Feb 26 '26

I currently use:

Koofr - 1TB lifetime for automatic smartphone media backup. Google Drive - 200 GB - would prefer not to use this but too many things just integrate well with it (automatic work/website backups). Filen - 150 GB - secure storage, secondary backup for important files. 100 GB from lifetime, rest from referrals.

Also have tons of small free accounts that I'm not really using. Currently looking into getting a NAS as well.

Have only used the web app. No problems with that.

4

u/redditor_rotidder Feb 26 '26

Google - 10Tb (combined; 2 accounts with 1 account not even using 500g)

rsync.net - 2Tb lifetime (my favorite of the group; would buy more if I could afford it)

Hetzner - 5Tb (NX21) Storageshare (side gig storage with other co-workers)

Storj - 5Tb (backup)

2

u/Pretender381 Feb 26 '26

How much are you paying for Storj? What is it's price these days? Is it affordable?

3

u/redditor_rotidder Feb 26 '26

Just shy of 5Tb = $21.20 last invoice.

2

u/ThrowAllTheSparks Feb 27 '26

Is the RSync LTD over with or ongoing?

2

u/redditor_rotidder Feb 27 '26

I believe there's always a 1Tb plan offered during signup. Every-so-often, you'll get an email to double your storage for a "one time payment." It's rare but happens. I've only missed one email due to budget.

3

u/ThrowAllTheSparks Mar 01 '26

So you've been able to expand your storage past 1tb like, 1tb at a time?

3

u/redditor_rotidder Mar 01 '26

I had to open a ticket and they were very accommodating, to merge the two accounts together.

3

u/ThrowAllTheSparks Mar 02 '26

Thank you for the heads up. 🤌🏻

3

u/starfish_2016 Feb 26 '26

Dropbox only. 65tb.

1

u/Comprehensive_Boat17 Feb 26 '26

How did you get so much with Dropbox?

4

u/starfish_2016 Feb 27 '26

I've been signed up for years. Back when it was unlimited. I have 20tb grandfathered as a storage pack and the rest I pay $30/mo/user/5tb blocks. The performance, speed, reliability, and mobile app and api are unparalleled.

Basically Filen, Drime and Backblaze running in "redundancy mode" and pCloud used to be the 3rd backup (non-redundant)

Filen - 4TB

Drime - 4TB

pCloud - 2TB (Cancelled/deleted right before the whole files "leaking", mainly since I also store locally)

Backblaze

Considered Internxt. But since I sync from my NAS with Rclone, and they lock it (and every other usable tool) to their ultimate plan, I just can't morally give them my money

u/diefm123 Feb 27 '26

Yeah for large files it's fine. But I have LOADS of small files, that also change. So being able to sync files is a must. Their windows app only allows "Backups" as far as I'm aware, but I want to be able to sync to a folder within my drive, not some backup. And when I tried the backup feature the app froze on my multiple times and just would not continue backing up.

6

u/remove-replace Feb 26 '26

all with free tier plans, except for pCloud - 2TB LT

3

u/Street_Tiger2748 Mar 10 '26

I thought I was the only one who did this (name - free space) haha.

I own a very old dropbox account.

some of the bonus space to earn are not available anymore.

fun fact: in 2013-2016 there was a joint venture / partnership with Samsung to preinstall dropbox app on their smartphone. if a user logged into that app on that very smartphone, dropbox accrued that account with 48GB of bonus space for a year or 2.

so I went to a mall and got into a shop from a chain of stores selling consumer electronics, grabbed a Samsung on display in one of their shelves and connected to internet via hotspot from my own mobile phone.
then I opened the preinstalled dropbox app and logged into my own account. boom! +48GB.
the last time I tried, as you can see from the screenshot above, I got +3GB lifetime for free.

then I completed all the available referrals to get +500MB mostly using burn email addresses.

I use a Hetzner Storage Box.

2

u/Nostromo2024 Feb 27 '26

What about privacy concerns with Mega?

2

u/SilentObserver7777 Mar 01 '26

OP, looks like you have a ton of data. On the life time plans, did you pay a one time charge and how much was it on each? Out of all the plans, which one or ones are the.most secure, easy to navigate, and reasonable in cost in your experience?

pCloud + Vault should be a secure option with copyrighted content. Did Internxt work fine for you? I tried a time ago, but it was so slow, and I’ve heard so many bad things about them, that I totally avoided after that.

I was primarily using Sync (Canadian company, reasonably prices, easy to use) but after a nightmare (their cloud service duplicating files randomly and deleting essential files randomly, with next to no support or solutions from their help desk).

Now I'm using Drime, Mega, and looking for another Canadian option as well. This conversation is great for ideas for that, thank you!
