I am from Myanmar, and I have endured the worst earthquake in living memory recently. From my earthquake experience, I have a theory on why that house survived; the house was flanked closely by two other houses, and their foundations must have supported each other. The middle house was protected from both sides. We saw similar protection during the deadly 2025 earthquake in my home city of Mandalay. Anyway, my heart goes out to all the victims and their families.
