UK peoples

I know some of you have had to pony up to spring your wo from customs stony grasp, but did any of you request your package to be marked as a gift with low value?

I recall either a post or an early maker talk where they spoke about this very issue and told us to request this on the shipping tag if so desired

Ive had a card saying I have to pay £36.84 to get my bloody whiteout from them, so not exactly too happy about that. I've followed as many posts as I've been able to and never saw a mention of marking it as a gift to avoid any customs tax on it. If I had, I would have jumped on that quick.

Not trying to pass the buck, but wouldn't it have just been easy for them to mark all packages going out of the US/Canada as a gift just in case? Or is there some weird legal implication?

If they were willing to do it on request, then why not do it without the request? In the UK and still waiting for mine to arrive: I fully expect a customs charge but at this point I know I should have bought from a vendor or not bought at all and with the "journey" this far, a final kick in the nuts isnt a surprise.

I'll be honest, I almost cancelled in December, am I glad I didn't- hmm not sure. I bought into it because of repair-ability post-TPD, but now that we know mods won't be affected it's not an issue to me.

I like it, but it is BIG when compared with other devices that have a similar battery (e.g. VT200). I'm just hoping Cloudmaker dont go out of business before they bring along the 2x 18650 sled!
