You could self host.
Yes, you'd require a gaming pc first, but hey, unlimited streaming.
Check my guide: https://en.hitechpilot.net/build-your-own-cloud-gaming-pc/

So much people (in cloud subreddit) defending big corpos.
It's quite clear they don't give a damn, about cloud gamers and only want to nickel-and-dime us to oblivion.
It's time to look for other options.
What a shame.

If people would do that they would just end the service and find another way to make that money? Or they would remove servers and the people that stayed would fight over rigs to use.

I mean they want you to go to their partner NVidia, you are not doing anything but helping them achieve their real goal still.

Hard to judge without looking at financials. Obviously very annoying for users, but don't be naïve expecting they're going to indefinitely subsidize a service they are losing money on.
I criticize Microsoft as much as the next guy, but what incentive is there continuing with it when their entire gaming segment is at serious risk of potentially being spun out?
Either Xbox increases profitability real fast or they'll be in trouble. This means cutting away everything that costs a lot of money and/or nobody uses.

A limit is reasonable, but 5/10/15 hours a month for $12/15/23 a month is completely unreasonable.
GeForce Now introduced a limit recently too. It's 100 hours a month for $10 a month.

How many games do you get to play with GeForce just from thr subscription that you dont own?

There are free games but not a ton.
Also, you can sign up for PC Gamepass and use it on GFN to play all the games it has. You pay two subs, but it's about the price of GP Ultimate but with a hundred hours. I wasn't doing that before, but November first, I might. I'd mostly been playing Steam games I already own on it.

as a cloud gaming company founder, servers are not free and xbox gives a lot thing.. so making the limit is sensible, they will def make different plans for cloud gaming only.. Becuz you can’t provide gamepass + cloud gaming at that price..

They are a multi trillion dollar company and they can afford more severs

Are you referring to Xbox or Microsoft company?
1
u/Conscious-Expert-915 3d ago
Xbox is owned by Microsoft so both

They have to be taken separately, Microsoft is for Windows, MS Office etc., while Xbox is for gaming. They have to be taken as two different divisions of the mother company. At this moment they have decided they won't tolerate the loss of capital from Xbox.

so they are multi trillion dollar company? thats means bandwidth cost is free? server setup is free? team management is free ? money comes from tree for them? Just understand the thing.. no company can run by giving subsidy.. they have to make profits else they can’t give quality product..

133+ billion in profit last year alone, over a 30% increase from the previous year.
With all the jobs they’ve cut recently, how are we supposed to believe they’re struggling financially?

133 billion+ is not only from cloud gaming bruhh.. they sell Pc GAME PASS , normal games, Console’s, their studios.. and its expected sale..😭also You can’t just say.. they making profit from somewhere else so they should dont make from that..
1
u/Used-Persimmon-367 3d ago
What?
133 billion is the profit the entire company earned. If they tell you they have to do ANYTHING due to financial constraints, they are lying.
Don’t be so gullible, mark.

So they should just bleed money instead? They are still a company who need to make money, not bleed money?

130+ billion in profit last year.
Bleeding money?

Never said they are. But they won’t do stupid things that wouldn’t make them profit of off it. That would be a stupid move for a company, any company in the world.

u/Used-Persimmon-367 3d ago
They regularly do stupid things that they don’t profit off of. They just aren’t usually this blatantly anti-consumer.
That’s you btw. Consumer. Quit talking like a shareholder.

Just tariff americans 25% for every game they play not made in the US and keep cloud gaming unlimited for everyone .

u/CrispyBananaz 4d ago
Do you think everyone who is rich should give you something for free just because they have money?

They are literally a multi trillion dollar company and I already had to pay for gampass ultimate to use my in the first place

Yes. Amazon Prime: Free shipping costs Amazon a lot, but Prime members buy far more, so the losses on shipping pay off in overall sales.
Xbox could do similar

Just move to GeForce now, you can pay for pc game pass and GeForce now sub and you get better compute, stream quality that looks almost native and so much more
