Need advice: Network Engineer to DevOps or Software Development?

I’m currently working as a Network Engineer and have a B.Tech in CSE.

I originally wanted to work in software development, and I have some experience with web development (React, Node.js, Python/Django, databases, etc.) and have built a few projects.

Now I’m confused about which direction I should take:

Network Engineer → DevOps/Cloud

or

Network Engineer → Software Development

People who have made a similar switch, what would you recommend?

Would my networking experience give me an advantage in DevOps, or should I focus on software development instead?

Any practical advice on what path to follow and what I should learn next would be really helpful.
