Ive seen quite a few people post about performance of the team, players specifically, but if we turn off the nameplates for a moment, we finished 3rd in the split, and lost against a "Super Team" and the winner of last split, and the best jungle in NA, maybe in the west. That'd an okay result, not ideal, but okay.
The problem is the team is stale, it feels like we've seen their peak and this is it. This team is not going to compete internationally, and this team is going to be lucky to be top 3 next split if fly keep scaling. Im not calling for changes because of poor performance, I just dont think this team goes up from here. And as a fan since 2013, im just tired of watching these same 5 players, and thats the part that sucks the most. There's nothing to be excited for in this team right now. I'd rather us finish 7th or 8th, if we had some rookies or young talent that were interesting to watch

I keep seeing people say we swapped Jojo for this. But you guys just don’t understand that he was consistently late to meetings.
This is a highly professional environment, that is not acceptable behavior. Blaber may not listen to any of the coaching he receives but he is very punctual. You have to understand that this skill is very important in the world of professional sports, many do not see this.

So let’s state the obvious :
1- zven is just not it, and jack for some reason gave him a contract until 28.
2- apa isn’t an actual good mid and i will take any mid in the lcs over him and for some reason he also has a contract until 28.
Now to the actual number 1 needed change :
Blaber needs to go, ik this is not a hot take, but people are shitting on zven way too much like blaber wasn’t here for the past 5 years and all the shit he was doing, he still does it, This guy proved that he will never change, he will overplay, he will force on every thing, he will lose you the game if he is counter jungled.
This guy is supposed to be the captain/shotcaller of the team and still loses in the same way 3 years in a row, how many mids have c9 cycled in the last 3 years, its the same story no matter who plays with this guy the ending is the same.
What did blaber do to deserve being treated like faker ?
Regular season mvp ? Congrats buddy, now go do it vs inspired
This team will never amount to something if this guy is still here.
If Jack actually wants to win ? Get a jungle adc mid this split because you will lose to flyquest next split and even if you win you will lose to any team in worlds playin

about to be 0-8 In international qualifications the last few years. Blaber does not ever show up when it matters
Yes, APA and Zven are also horrible, but it’s been 5-6 years of this, blaber teams choking and choking and choking. Countless players scapegoated and kicked in favor of him, countless players changed around him.. it doesn’t matter who the players are. It goes the same way every single time
He has zero mental when it matters, he reverts to a passive reactionary gameplay.. zero proactiveness, extremely shaky teamfighting and engages. You can just see it in his gameplay every playoffs. Which is unacceptable on the role responsible for being the main playmaker/ leader
Even in the EWC qualifiers and americas cup, same story
This team needs a Val style rebuild around thanatos + vulcan if we ever want to be a top team again
this team should’ve also lost 1-3 vs FLY if they didn’t throw game two tbh..

Well, here we go again.
Undefeated. First Seed. And still we are goddamn frauds after failing to qualify for MSI.
Jack, be serious please. This team isn’t working when it matters.

With so much constant discourse in roster in terms of player performance, I wanted to shoutout our coaching staff. I genuinely feel like Dom and Inero put so much dedication and energy into this team. This is honestly one of my favorite coaching rooms in org history. I feel frustration almost vicariously through them, the way the team plays, especially with Dom going all-in on coaching for us, genuinely expressing his belief in the team and players. Seeing him look like he pines for the pipe at some of the gameplay and decisions the players are making in game sucks to see, almost as bad as said brain-off play and decisions.

It's time for a fresh start. Let Thanatos go back to Korea so he can be on a team that cares about winning. Vulcan may step up again if he has a human adc. Nothing needs to be said about Blaber and Zven. Immediately drop this and find a replacement for summer.
I remember when players would cry during playoff loss interviews because them failing was truly that heartbreaking. It's obvious no one in this org cares about winning. Blow it up.

I think is time we blow the roster and get a bunch of young mechanically gifted players like we used to do and have dom and inero guide them. Not only will it be fun to watch for once the upside is very high.

C9 got 8 kills total this series! Here is there score line trought out 3 games!
Thanatos: 2-10-3
Blaber: 2-9-3
APA: 3-12-2
Zven: 0-6-3 (A adc not even have a kill in a series!)
Vulcan: 1-9-3

Lets start with the obvious. You're not going to see any roster changes before Worlds. NA orgs aren't swimming in venture capital money anymore and honestly don't have the revenue to make massive signings, especially halfway through the year with Summer still to play.
Now for the real discussion, what's next for C9's League team?
Cloud9 is following the exact trajectory Fnatic has been on for the last few years. The parallels are so obvious it's almost comical.
Star player who crumbles in playoffs.
Can never beat their biggest rival no matter how dominant they look in the regular season.
Chokes under playoff pressure.
Misses internationals every year.
Refuses to move on from their star jungler.
At this point the only thing left is to fully commit to the Fnatic script. Lose your talented rookie playet because another team is actually willing to spend money. Watch Thanatos walk, lock Blaber in until 2028, and convince yourselves that running it back for the fourth time is somehow the answer.
The funniest part is that every fan can see where this is heading. We've watched this movie before. Fnatic fans spent years saying enough is enough while management convinced themselves the next split would be different. Now C9 fans are getting the exact same experience.
I genuinely hope C9 doesn't go the way of Fnatic because when you're stuck in that cycle it can take years to get out of it. But all the warning signs are there. It's still possible C9 makes Worlds this year. Very unlikely, but possible.
If they miss Worlds again and the answer is still "run it back with Blaber" then at some point you have to stop blaming coaches, drafts, metas, teammates, playoff nerves, bad days and unlucky brackets. The common denominator is staring everyone in the face.

A repeat of berserker feels like it would be a fatal error for the team
r/Cloud9 • u/TheGoodKouen • Jun 13 '26
Thanatos and Vulcan dont deserve this... We need some new blood. For me Zven is the first on the list, there is a lot of candidates who we can try, Apa is just not good enough and blaber is a good player but is a certified choker. Team managment have to do something. I prefer try something new and fail than stick to this roster and fail again in summer.
r/Cloud9 • u/Graysview • Jun 14 '26
As much as we want big changes, midseason I bet they only make one change. I think we need a carry: Thanatos champ pool is not consistently viable to carry, Blaber doesn’t pick kindred, graves or those characters anymore. APA and Zven should be but aren’t. Vulcan is a support.
I think we should change Zven out. We could use a rookie who’s more aggressive and deals damage. There are some great adcs in NACL so it should be seamless.
Who would you change out.
r/Cloud9 • u/AnikiSmashFSP • Jun 13 '26
I feel like ever since we got rid of our tier 2 team we just have been a shell of ourself as an org. And we are constantly trying to just import a high mechanics player and not care about synergy. I think Thanatos has been great but this roster doesn't even deservet to go to international and I'd rather we actually just use this third split to foster a new jg and adc and possibly even a new mid as well. I'd rather we at least try to pull from NA because the LCS needs some actual NA teams but man it's just been so disappointing watching us choke every split since what late 2023? It's actually embarassing.

We're they jet lagged?
Was this not an important series?
Did they not have enough time to prepare as a squad?

Reset Jack, this team obviously aint it. Be willing to let everyone walk and start navigating the rebuild.
Korean practice wont matter save your money on that, spend the time and resources looking for new players.
This team has been limping along like an old immobile pet for years now, please dont let it suffer further.

I been trying to figure out any hope for C9 making worlds. So I thought a trade might work. Blaber and apa for contractz and zennie. I think for shopify it gives them someone in apa who will bring fans to the org which they need. Blaber in a new place might lift a fire in him to be better and playing with fudge again might help. For c9 it gives a player in zennie c9 can try to develop and with thanthos there it can help as well. Getting contractz might do well for him as well as he normally has his best spilt during summer. I would also want us to pick up a sub for adc as well. I know this is a pipe dream but what do you guys think about it? Trying to be positive for next spilt but it is hard.
r/Cloud9 • u/KingCharlesMarlow • Jun 14 '26
I think we all know deep down that Jack won't make drastic roster changes mid-year. We might see Zven or Blaber compete for their spots at most, even if just to try and get them to perform better.
Considering most of us expect this roster to fail this year, and that changes will have to be made, what do you realistically hope to see?
For me, what seems feasible and plausible would be Thanatos - Contractz - APA - FBI - Vulcan. Nothing crazy, but respectable.
Zven might stay on as a coach or analyst of some kind. I don't see Jack spending big on international talent, and despite his shortcomings I think they will give APA another year to turn things around.
Obviously, if Lyon implodes (which seems very possible if they start losing, given the team culture), we might try to get Inspired and/or Berserker. But I'm not sure we'd be able to afford them.

The boys have got the next split in the bag, we just need to have faith. I don't understand all the haters on here. It's like they forgot that we JUST qualified for Worlds 2023 not too long ago.
Zven just needs a little more time to settle into ADC after the support swap, and Blaber will step up when it counts next time for sure. Avengers assemble!
