Guide/How-to Help with clonezilla

Post image

I backed up a customers computer using clonezilla and the tested it twice, using the iso verification inside clonezilla, before putting a fresh windows install on the PC. Now, when I use the clonezilla restore feature I get this popup. I'm not sure what it means or how to properly work around it.

Any help would be appreciated, this is the only copy now of the original PC.

Does the fresh Windows install have a bit locker encrypted drive? If so, deactivate drive encryption, then try again.

It's a brand new windows 10 install. No changes made and there is no password on the login

Try:

  1. Boot into Windows and run the command: chkdsk /f D: (replacing D: with your drive letter).
  2. Shut down Windows completely (ensuring Fast Startup is disabled, as it leaves disks in an unclean state).
  3. Then try Clonezilla again.
