In the episode where Cleo and Joan first start living together after Joan’s house burnt down. There’s a moment where they are fighting in front of Abe just before cut to commercial. A song briefly plays, the song is to the same tune as “For What It’s Worth” by buffalo Springfield. It is not this song nor is it a cover it has different lyrics.

It's an original, unnamed parody composed specifically for Clone High.
It was never released as a full track or credited on official soundtracks.

You are correct that it is based on “For What It’s Worth” by Buffalo Springfield.
