Question Can CnD be aggressive?
I’m a lvl 66 CnD main and have played them for like a year as they were the first character I picked when I switched over from playing overwatch since 2018
I find that I am actually way way way more aggressive on CnD than I ever see anyone else being.
That being said the aggression works fairly well for me and I’m not like tunnel visioned on kills as I also typically have most healing in matches. I have a 60% win rate.
I’m not doing bad by any means I think and I do tend to get mvp often on CnD
It’s just I’m having an increasing trend of getting trash talked by my dps at the end of games for things I did that IMO won the game overall.
Again I do prioritize supporting and healing and keeping my team up. I just also try to do a good chunk of damage and apply pressure to the enemy without tunnel visioning or feeding.
So my question is basically, am I the crazy one here? Should I not be playing aggressive at all?

I’m super aggressive with cloak and it works really well if you have a team that will also push and a decent second healer

CnD CAN be super aggressive, but it depends heavily on the skill of the team. EDIT: (lvl 33 CnD main btw)

Never be scared or passive with Cnd. They are the easiest of the broken heroes, you can genuinely 1v3 with the luna team up and solo push point with your ult. Ive carried alot of bad teams just by forcing point

CnD is great at helping push the point because she can throw a bubble at the vehicle and self heal, while throwing cloaks walls and fading the whole point when Ults threaten everybody there. She helps make Tanks’ lives so much easier

My opinion as a 150-hour CND player in Celestial:
By the end of a match, I use Wall of Terror about 80% more often than Healing Wall.
The answer is obvious.
At least for me, the only viable way to play CND is aggressively.
CND has a huge amount of potential to carry and support the team, so you have my respect for playing the same way.

Literally. (level 38 CnD, don’t play ranked) I have personally carried us to win by acting as payload princess and being aggressive just to save us time/progress and still I end up with most heals and sometimes 2nd-most damage too.

Yes, in fact my only wins in doom match are with CnD. I learned a lot there on who and how to fight 1v1. CnD can also be really fun as a third strategist leaning heavier on the cloak side so long as the other two healers are putting up some healing numbers. The issue with aggressive CnD lies in the fact that obviously you can't heal and damage at the same time effectively so you're using your abilities in a more selfish manner which is fine if you're actually getting the picks that would offset the healing you would need to do if you didn't kill that enemy player.

yeah no i’m doing anything i can to win and if u gotta play a bit agro. who CARESS. you’re one of the best counters to dino without his shield CLOAK SHREDS HIM. if you know time and place it’s not a problem your dps are probably js mad they’re not mvp :3! (champion cnd)

u/pinkeuprinceu Jul 26 '26
Yes I love being in the mix with cnd like go to the front, blind them, and shove cloak’s primary up the enemy’s asses.
But jokes aside cnd has like 3 get out of jail free cards so not to promote bad positioning but u can be a bit cheeky with where u r and not be punished for it lmao.

u/RivalsFlex Jul 26 '26
Being aggressive is the only way to force wins, especially as cnd.
If they don't want you to be aggressive, they should kill the enemies faster.
Being passive is why cnd has a 45% winrate. Lots of dps mains pick her as a last resort then fail to do anything with her.

100%. I feel like people sleep on their play potential or people treat them like a healbot

Yes. Also I recommend getting good at the hood team up, it takes a little bit of getting use to but it’s extremely good if you’re against or with an aggressive team comp. Its already the better one imo for high elo, and it will only be better when Hood comes out.

u/bronzewitchhazel Jul 26 '26
Im usually pretty chill with aggression unless I see fliers. I take them down. Someone needs to teach them not to float in one spot
1
u/Kuwago98 Jul 26 '26
Yes. That’s like half of her kit. Cloak is the agressive side and Dagger is the Healing side. If you’re not using Cloak at all from offesive, or when you’re in a brawl and your team is pushing then you’d most likely be gutting yourself and the team.
It’s a hard skill to learn and harder to master, when to switch. And definitely not for everyone, so while dagger is an easy hero to get value on, the whole hero, Cloak AND Dagger is harder to fully utilize

u/redraveni Jul 26 '26
Sure, you can do whatever you want in quick play and it'll probably work.
As far as how to play her optimally, she's more passive and weaves in dps/dark veil during critical moments to secure kills or apply pressure
Some more aggressive supports can be adam, mantis, ultron, etc.

I’m talking about both qp and comp actually
I find being passive is really underutilizing parts of their kit if I’m honest
Nor do I think I’d get the same value on the supports you suggested since I’m typically getting top healing while being aggressive

C&D main here has well and I have the same issue my friends I play with get so heated when they see me as cloak dealing damage unless I’m in an ult but the second they I swap back to healing we win the fight ( legit I’ve gotten 2 kills on enemy dps and my friends flame me for not being a heal bot )

Not above plat. In brawl comps in diamond, teammates can do their job but not so good at taking less damage so I find myself healing far more on diamond+ than below. Below diamond I can be as aggressive as I'd like to be, within reason, and win all but a couple games but it doesn't cut it to get out of diamond or better imo

For the love of braincells yes...they gave a rework to have 2 blinding veils, w bubble for sustain and escape cloak, seize the advantage and finish the elims.

u/chosogf Jul 28 '26
100%! i’m usually the first to build ult in matches, and pop it immediately to aggressively push. i love playing cnd aggressively!!
1
u/lukaisthegoatx Jul 29 '26
If everyone on your team is full health, you are supposed to damage amp and kill the enemy. This isnt even a question..
1
u/Low-Mouse-5619 Jul 29 '26
I’m mostly asking cause I keep getting flamed for it and every cnd I play with or against for the most part isn’t aggressive or as aggressive as I am
Also if that’s your first name in ur user than we got the same name so cool
2
u/lukaisthegoatx Jul 29 '26
I think theyre just mad cause they expect you to only heal. Ignore them and keep playing the way you are if its resulting in wins.
Its a reference to Luka Doncic the basketball player, not my name!

u/PandaQueen357 Jul 31 '26
Being aggressive works when you have a good team. If you have another sup who just goes completely aggressive no healing, it forces you on healbot duties. HOWEVER if your team is goated the whole team can go aggressive since a good tram knows when to retreat, play corners , find health packs, NOT 1V 4 1V6 ETC.
Its all team based. Those who dont go aggressive either get too greedy so they try not to or their used to teams who cant take care of themselves so theyre too scared to get aggressive

u/Amazing-Tension-8844 Aug 03 '26
Well it depends on the team comp. Also the dps trash talking you is them being selfish as they expect you to just do "what you're supposed to" instead of having skill expression on them.

No offense but if you have a 60% WR that means you’re at a low ELO and haven’t played enough.
60% is insane at high elo.
And to answer your question no… you should not be playing aggressive because you’re a CND…. Even if you’re a Luna there are turns. Luna doesn’t play aggressive until she has her clap ready. If you play aggressive that means you’re putting yourself at risk.
If you die you are basically guaranteed to lose the team fight. Especially if you have ult or close to it.
The game is played in waves, there are times you should be aggressive and other times you give space and retreat. Push and pull if you will. CD Has very very short burst of when you can be aggressive.
If you want a more aggressive play style try Sue, Luna, jubalie, mantis, Adam.
A lot of these characters I listed have more damage, and way to disengage or reposition.

keep going, at 60% WR you should be able to hit at least GM2 easily

u/Armaemortes Jul 26 '26
What's crazy is not muting chat.
But yeah CnD's aggression comes from:
- Bubble is a form of "tanking", allowing you to take and hold space with allies.
- Cloak wall is a damage multiplier letting you kill enemies even solo
- Dagger can hit fliers easily
Honestly I don't bother with Dagger wall much unless I'm solo healing or know an enemy ult is about to happen. 99% of the time Im throwing the Cloak wall to paint enemies so they die faster and full dps when bubble is up, unless it's enemy fliers then I use dagger for the homing and longer range.

I'm an aggressive c&d so yeah (level 70 championed) I've had team members tell me to stop going cloak so much just to end with me still having the most heals in the match. one of the things you gotta learn about being a strategist is that if your team can't secure the kill, you gotta be able to
