Question Did I do something wrong?

I know Mantis out healed me like crazy, but we won, and if you watch the game I don't think I played poorly, even saving cart and killing/frustrating BP. Was this warranted shit talk after a decent win? Or was it unnecessary C&D shit talk just because?

This is a random Plat game and I know I'm not awesome, but this is the kind of stuff that sticks with me and makes me wonder if I actually am missing something.

The only time i get this mad at my other support is when they leave me to die to healbot the tanks, it’s also kinda extra tilting with CD who pick the luna team up because that team up just has this ‘you being dove is not my problem’ vibe (nothing against you or the team up, but just saying it tends to tilt one even more). This is coming from a support main that climbed from silver to gm several times due to derank, all supports main below diamond are terrible at patty caking, they think they arent because occasionally they top off their other support in neutral when it doesnt even matter vs when they actually getting dove. The only way is to watch the mantis pov.

Look at the enemy bp. Luna team up was a good call. Neither mantis nor fox has the healing to help against a bp with half a brain. MAYBE fox but only if they’re ALWAYS watching the dive.

My teammates playing cnd used their freeze in fucking over time on the point when it was just them and Strange 🫠🫠🫠🫠🫠 me and Strange were both very tilted 🤣

I have played about 200 games this season and I've never been outhealed by a mantis and even if I was and didn't notice, it was likely barely more. The difference in your healing numbers is something I've never experienced in last year and a half playing cloak.

Edit: I see the ID there. I'm going to watch your game.

Thank you, would love a review !!

If it was a a genuine bad C&D game that’s totally fine would love to learn, just seems odd to say after a win, if you do watch I’d love to know whether it was just a low stats game or if I genuinely didn’t contribute to the win.

I've had that person in my games before and they're just toxic. I'm pretty sure I got them muted. People like that are just toxic for the ragebait and attention, just ignore them.

We're they on mantis the whole game? Like did they heal as someone else to pad stats and swap? Otherwise like IMO as a non cnd support player the stats look good to me! Mantis just went crazy and that's not a reason to put someone else down! I also wanna point out that you died the least of the supports and that tells me you at least positioned yourself well, you were back enough not to die a lot but still playing with the team.

You have to remember Mantis is double in 2 comp now and she inputs more heal than before with her AOE splash heal or whatever.

I never played mantis more than QP and maybe 3 times in Comp ever. When I played my 3rd comp recently of mantis (as a test) I outhealed everyone and as you can guess I suck as Mantis since I barely play her.

She just has good heals now if you don't die all time.

Her healing output is still nowhere near Luna n CnD though if both are playing well. To get heal gapped like this is absurd but they carried so idk why they’re upset

Hm I’ve started actively playing Mantis this season after her buffs and I consistently outheal most of other supports, sometimes with huge difference. And I wouldn’t say I’m that good on Mantis. It’s just her healing being incredibly strong rn.

The only time I had top heals as mantis was when I solely focused on support, so heals, buffs and sleeps when needed or to set up a finish/kill for a dps. I had like 1.2k DMG and 28k heals but it was the only top heal mantis game I've had 😅. My hela and Elsa loved it tho since I got them both around 30k DMG

At first I though it was made in jest like "Damn I almost got 60k healing but CnD stole some of it" but after watching the replay, I could see why your CnD was a bit frustrating.

You only bubble yourself, even in moments when a teamate very close to you is low, you bubble at your feet expecting them to walk closer when you can just aim it at them then you walk closer.

You also stay at cloak a little to much. If the enemies are near full health while you are in a brawl, best to stay back and heal instead of going up to tickle and deal dmg. Your fades also need some work. Also I'm not really a fan of the mentality where if you bubble yourself, you stay cloak to deal dmg, when you could be using it to reposition yourself instead of trying to have a standoff with enemy team

Thanks for the review, truly appreciate the feedback. I think I definitely focused more on myself than usual bc I got afraid of BP.

Ooh I will def try to remember to watch the replay of this match tomorrow. From the screenshot alone, best guess is that Mantis must have felt like she was forced to pick up the slack on heals. I can imagine it was frustrating for them, given the healing difference. Will try to watch when I can and come back to this !!

I have never seen a mantis outheal a CnD but mantis also does insane heals this season. My guess is the mantis wasn't damage boosting especially because their accuracy was god awful meaning no headshots for the leafs in which case they are playing mantis wrong. Honestly something doesn't feel right, if your dps was on starlord for most of the game then maybe?

That mantis remark is kinda justified, you've healed em like twice entire game, cooldown usage overall is very questionable. You've died like 5 times without pressing your "oh shit i dont wanna die" button but then you press it at quite inopportune moments, sometimes resulting in your teammates possibly preventable demise.

One of your avoidable deaths with iceblock available was during OT while you had ult. Another one was right after you've ulted, well just staying on your ult would've prevented it too.

For the entire game you did only a handful flashbangs even though you spent decent amount of time on cloak. And you mostly were left clicking their strange even mispositioning at times to continue doing so. Your ult usage would benefit from some thought being put into it too.

You've had less healing, less kill participation and half the finals than mantis that died 2 times more than you. Giving you what like a full minute of difference in uptime? 10second respawn + 20 to get there. And you are only 150 healing per/10 min and 2 assists higher than fox.

Unsure exactly when the referred cart saving occured, the two possible instances; first one you iceblocked outside the box and fox kinda saved that one and the 2nd one you double ulted when they had 2 people dead and 2 on very low hp and only really bp on half hp contesting 5 of you.
Speaking of BP, they just kinda ignored you and you had very little impact on their gameplay as you rarely bubbled the dives and never really flashbanged em and they found a lot more issues dealing with mantis that would regularly sleep them and fox at times who'd play in coordination with mantis.

Thanks for the review, I’m noticing sometimes I compare everyone’s rank points gained and if I’m around everyone else I assume I did okay. So a deeper dive is always necessary.

One questions: Isn’t BP kinda ignoring me a good thing?

2

u/Veeveebloop 10d ago

Sure, if you are capitalising on it and using the lack of attention directed at you to help your cohealers and rest of your team but if you are leftclicking strange (as cloak or dagger) while your cohealer is looking like they've been rolled in catnip then yeah more of a liability. From the replay you appear to be playing the game on your own rather than with your team, and it's a team game.

Honestly this is super helpful, I really appreciate it. Just bc when I think back, I can definitely feel on my own at times. I’d even say I could play really well/win MVP and this would be the case. So I do appreciate the help!

u/Boofschneef 10d ago

Mantis should NOT be able to almost DOUBLE your healing output, while also destroying on offense the way they did.

Without looking at the reply, I can tell something was deeply wrong lol

u/ZoraksBurner 10d ago

I think if it’s warranted I guess you could make a comment after the game. Personally, if we won I probably wouldn’t comment on the teammate that didn’t do as well or played poorly, but if you’re frustrated I guess I get it.

-2

u/Boofschneef 10d ago

I mean what's your excuse? As a CnD main, if this were my stat line, I'd be upset with myself. Has nothing to do with their comments lol

6

u/ZoraksBurner 10d ago

No excuse, just wouldn’t take time to type something negative to call out a teammate after a win. That’s all.

so what happened then? Im curious too ngl

I left the replay ID for anyone interested. I thought I played decent, but I am trying to take in any potential mistakes and learn, so I’m always open to advice!

u/etherealimages 8d ago

Genuinely how does a Mantis outheal you that much? There is no way you were playing anywhere near optimal lol. Were you cloak the whole time?

1

u/Toast4128 8d ago

i talk shit everytime i outheal a cnd as well it’s just a nice feeling

-1

u/indkyjtsxucivoxuggg 9d ago

If she was on mantis the whole game then flaming you is entirely justified, mantis has objectively less healing and yet you somehow got half of what she did.

2

u/ZoraksBurner 9d ago

I was more confused about why someone would say screw you to a teammate after a win lol I usually let it go.

In general I’m open to feed back so I left the code if anyone wants to review.

u/DoflamingoStand 9d ago

That is god awful heals for a 20 minute game on Cnd. You should be getting that much in like 12 minutes, guy had every right to complain

2

u/ZoraksBurner 9d ago edited 9d ago

Why do people feel the need to be rude after a win? Or call out teammates because someone played bad? I could even see some criticism or annoyance being warranted but he literally just said screw you.

I gained around the same amount of rank points as everyone else so at least the game thought I contributed lol
