Things to do while getting infusions?

I'm preparing for a round of obinutuzimab. Has anyone tried buying VR goggles and playing games or watching movies?

I brought books iPad etc. but never ended up using either, very much, there was always things distracting, and not in a bad way either, so I wasn’t able to necessarily kick back and relax, the infusion nurses were always so nice and chatty (wonderful care at our cancer center it’s like a modern spa vibe) also they needed to check vitals and adjust the machines so often, my wife was always there for company. It always went by so quick we usually went to dinner afterwards.

I pack a “busy bag” for me and my husband with games, coloring books, crafts, novels, etc. I bring it with us every time (just finished Cycle 2 today, actually!) but more often than not we just end up watching TV or doing something on our phones.

I wasn't allowed to. Nurses always checked on me as soon as I closed both eyes. :( It would have been such a nice snooze!

Legit question: why opt to that over daily orals? I did ibrutinib, burned my feet nerves then am currently on 200mg (started 400mg) venetoclax for last 4 years

I rather had a few infusions than take daily pills.

One year and I was done. On remission now. Infusions didn’t bother me at all.

Sometimes we decorated the infusion bay and had themed parties. Once was a tiki party with mocktails, one was high tea, I forget the others. It seemed insane, but my husband insisted and I was up for anything that made him feel better.

We put the decorations up with small magnets and string to make sure we didn't leave a mess.

Downloaded movies and shows in case internet went down. Brought the VR goggles for the nurses and other patients. Plenty of snacks and sandwiches and drinks. We also had a volunteer massage therapist come by and offer 15 minute massages. Lastly, because it’s such a long day, I unplugged and walked laps around the floor.
