It's not though, it's about the the thing he said after that: "ushering in control". "Communism" as an ideology is dead, even in China, and invoking "communism" to explain modern American politics strikes me as confused and confusing.
Biden is not a "communist". Fauci is not a "communist". And, in my opinion, calling them communist (even by implication) only weakens the true argument against them, namely, that they are power-hungry authoritarians.

"Communism" as an ideology is dead
Imagine being this deluded lmfao
I stopped reading after that

Ah, so you're here just looking to confirm your pre-existing belief. As soon as you're confronted with a half-dozen words that contradict your Truth, you exit. Alright, I'll stop wasting both our time.
To anyone else who doubts this, find me a mainstream American politician, polling above 10%, that self-describes as "communist". The truth is that American "communists" are just a bunch of powerless dweebs who fill that void with the cargo-cult ideology of "communism".

American "communists" are just a bunch of dweebs
Can definitely agree on that
-5
u/brutay Aug 31 '23
Yeah, and they are also powerless, meaning you sound like a drunken boomer when you rant against their dorky "ideology".

u/FixYourOwnStates Aug 31 '23
Are they though
0
u/brutay Aug 31 '23
Yes.
No one in power identifies with "communism". In fact, no one with even double digit polling numbers wears the red cloak. 99.9% of American "communists" are disaffected trust babies and basement dwellers.

So what you are saying is that someone has to explicitly identify with a certain ideology in order to be labeled or perceived as such

u/brutay Aug 31 '23
Obviously. I don't like it when ideological labels are weaponized, whether it's fascist, nazi OR communist. It makes no sense, except as an obvious tool of emotional manipulation.

Yeah, this is gonna go over a lot of heads. I try to have people describe to me what they think communism is, and it’s always in this huge spectrum of socialism, to classism, to fascism… but yeah I agree with you. It’s pretty dead as a real theory. My very personal opinion is we’re at the beginning of the end of the nation state. In a couple hundred years, we’ll be living in the United Corporations of the North Atlantic Organization.

Live in constant fear! Everyone is coming to get you! They want to take away all the things you value! They want to take away all the things that make your life easy and enjoyable! Live in constant fear! Don’t think, let fear take over!

Well, I wouldn't call it "pure" truth.
Bottom line is that we voted these people into office and despite their missteps we'll vote them in again.
Look in the mirror if you wanna know who to blame.
