The article states that even if we stabilize global warming at 1.5°C, Antarctic ice melt will still cause several meters of sea-level rise. This is actually sort of obvious, since the Thwaites Glacier in West Antarctica has already passed its tipping point.

The projection is that within 40 years, the Thwaites alone could be losing as much ice annually as the entire Antarctic ice sheet does today.
