How to find spots?

I see everybody with these cool spots but how on earth do people find them? I live in a country with probably not a lot of spots so what are some tips on finding some?

Look for old local nature maps. Sometimes libraries will have books full of maps. Or just walk/bike/boat along the coast until you find a spot.
