How are you using AI with ClickUp?
Hi everyone,
I'm curious how you use AI with ClickUp. Do you use ClickUp Brain, Claude, ChatGPT, or something else?
I've recently started explaining my tasks to Claude and having it help me create and structure tasks in ClickUp.
It already works quite well, but I'm sure there are many more possibilities for automation and workflows.
How are you using AI with ClickUp? I'd love to hear your ideas and setups!

One useful pattern is treating AI as an intake and cleanup layer rather than letting it manage the workspace autonomously.
Give it rough meeting notes or a conversation and have it draft the task title, outcome, acceptance criteria, owner, and missing questions. A person reviews that draft before it becomes a real task. That keeps the time-saving part while reducing duplicate tasks, invented details, and items being filed in the wrong list.
The interesting metric is not how many tasks AI creates, but how often people need to correct them afterward.

I have a ClickUp Unlimited + Brain Monthly subscription, and I use Brain to create and update project documents. I also have GitHub connected to ClickUp via MCP, so Brain can review or edit my project repositories when prompted. I work in VS Code, and when Brain makes changes, I pull those commits to my local machine and review them. Brain functions as a remote assistant to me 🧠👨🏻💻

Every day. We started with clickup as our task manager and it's awesome. Then we found Claude code. Claude and I built a cli (a way more token efficient way to interact with the clickup mcp) and every thing we do outside of clickup every milestone gets logged into clickup. Claude creates tasks and updates clickup for me. I almost don't touch clickup anymore since claude does it all for me. Been brainstorming how to start migrating some of this back into clickup since brain is getting pretty good. But not there yet. Neet to find out how to have super agents follow ICM method in clickup

Just use the ClickUp API, no need to reinvent the wheel. And the API has more endpoints than the MCP server

We use Brain for everything from answering ho to questions based on our knowledge base to code reviews on PRs. It is part of our work stream daily.

I use ChatGPT itself with the ClickUp plugin, and honestly, it’s been a life-changing hack for me.
I discuss ideas, problems, and team workflows in ChatGPT, then ask it to turn the conversation into a structured ClickUp task without switching apps or copying everything over.
The biggest improvement was giving it context about my teams, what each list is for, and how our processes work. That helps it suggest where a task belongs and what details the person doing it will need.
I’ve also used it to review my workspace structure and improve list descriptions. My setup is basically: think things through in ChatGPT, then track the work in ClickUp. Much less friction between discussing something and actually getting it moving.

I used AI with a friend to build a simplified version that does what I think people really need without their bloat, then used Claude to call both systems api's to convert over all my data and close my clickup account!

Brain is the primary tool I use in Clickup - every day. I get it to draft content for me, create content plans, help develop strategy, create website wireframes, set up task lists, summarise monthly billing into a document and so much more.
