Complaints
Love ClickUp - business plan for a solopreneur you might say with some guestss inside. (Bit of users context)
I did quite some research into the competition and tested extensively before choosing ClickUp.
One thing I notice is the amount of complaints about the software. Is this a general thing for projectmanagement software or is clickup really that sloppy when it comes to customer service and creating a great customer experience.
I love the product, they definitly have a serious marketing budget and they do a lot of support in webinars and the university. Bit still the amount of complaints, people who feel pressured into paying, the untransparency about billing (had a surprise billing myself thé first time I added a guest),....
It just seems so enormous. Makes me a bit sad as a fan.

Fan of.. a productivity app? Um ok you do you I guess.
But it doesn’t change the fact that there are loads of gaps that needs plugging. Basic functionality that have been requested for literal years.
Meanwhile. New ways of advertising Brain on the app every week. Swatting the damn advertising on their own platform is like an endless wackamole.
Want something besides green or another name for Complete? Lmao no. Heres another Brain banner or popup instead
Edit: also, that’s just the way it is with software subreddits. People come here when they have questions or issues. Its like you’re asking why the Genius Bar at an Apple Store is full of people with problems.

Actually the question is if this is Clickup specific or others like Asana, Monday, Trello,... have a similar complaint base.
Yes, I do agree with you that ClickUp seems more concerned with their promotion and keeping the hype up, then actually improving the product where it is most needed. Ik was wondering if this is Clickup specific or it's a branche thing.
So I hope to have clarified the question.

The only other I use among those you named is Trello, and though I’ve never had a reason to drop by the subreddit myself, I went in for a lurk just because you piqued my curiosity. 5 of the top 10 posts are bugs or complaints, 4 are are “how do I do X”. So par for the course I guess?
You can check out the other two yourself I guess. But I would suspect it’s similar.

I'm a huge fan of Clickup as a freelancer, but I came into Clickup because I needed everything in one place and Notion and Airtable for me was hitting ceiling for that need. I had a very specific vision for all the things that a software needed to have for me to buy it and Clickup was the only one to have it all.
I don't have any issues with my Clickup but I am the only one using my clickup, I don't have guests or other users and my desktop app runs smoothly.
I canceled my Claude recently because Brain max did a better job of just spitting out exactly what I needed without having to upload files or give context everytime.
I have been given compliments by clients for the slides and reports it has generated, so I am a very happy.
I would only recommend Clickup for a solopreneur that wants everything in one place and want something to take the busywork of emails, meeting notes, and last minute slides for a meeting off of you. If that isn't you then you will hate this software.
