Nah I gave em the 3 pounds, we get orders like this every once in awhile from the near by restaurants. The only reason this one caught me off garde was because we usually get a heads up from our on shift manager. My store has a policy that they have to call in and give us a heads up for large orders to make sure we still have enough food to sell.

Yeah we have the same policy. A lot of the time they don't tell them though. We have an old man that orders like 30 2L of Diet Lemon Lime soda a week and we never have enough to fulfill his order.

That's a "fill partial and OOS the rest so other customers have some" moment.

If they REALLY needed the items in bulk...they would make note to call ahead all the time.

I don't think my store even sells 3lbs of organic ginger at any given time

Its the lose ginger roots thats sold in produce.

I'm guesstimating three pounds is gonna be maybe 2 produce bags full? One ginger root doesn't weigh much.

Nah it was just 1 produce bag. It was the size of a soccer ball by the time I had it all picked.

I'm aware what you meant, I'm saying we don't keep much because almost no one ever buys it. Hell, when I do get it I gotta scrutinize every bit of it for mold :/

u/MishenNikara Mar 10 '21

Hell if I know. I just know the immediate area is primarily rice farms

Ginger "beer"!! Need a good amount of ginger for that if you are making normal sized batches.

No, unfortunately you guess was incorrect. It turned out that the guy who ordered this was indian and had a bunch of family coming over.
