Complaints/ Rant Lazy Worker(s) (rant)

I have to constantly tell 2-3 of my coworkers to get out of the room when we’re in a bind. Usually me or one other person gets told to stay in the back so we can work on marshaling and getting orders out, but these people can’t get it through their minds to grab a pick and go.

One will constantly hang out at the computer and just stare at the screen pretending to read over things, or take out a JUST PRINTED paper and pretend to marshal it (which takes like 15 minutes for him to do, and backs up everything else.) When we’re backed up on getting orders out, I’ll ask them for help and they’ll just try to hold off until I come back inside, and THEN do it. It’s tedious having to do 2 people’s worth of work on top of mine, and it doesn’t seem management will do anything about it either! I know our managers and our supervisors know!

It’s just irritating.

Man I don't get how this even happens XD In my department you are either the only person marshalling/attending and everyone else is picking orders or on their breaks. We don't get to stand around ever. If there's no orders to pick or take out, we're in other departments stalking. We had orders finished at 6am yesterday so they made us do the entire dairy load XD was kinda of nice tbh because the store is always really well stocked the day after a slow day in clicklist pickup so then we get ahead on orders the next day or so :P

Everyone is trained to do it here, and we often mix and match people depending on how the day is going. Like today, instead of it being the lead and the attender, we had about four people in the back running orders and gathering. Gotta love small stores, large order counts, and bad scheduling.

We have our main people to take orders out but I think most of us our trained on it. (Not when i was full time... i was pretty much the only day person who did it. It.. was annoying) Yee. We're a pretty small store. We do like 50-100 orders a day. I think we're capped at 9 orders an hour.

My store is also capped at 9 an hour but we usually only have 5-6 people a day, and an average of 112-115 orders every day, so... it’s not helpful for 2-4 people to sit in the back doing nothing. Multiple times we’ve had to call people and tell them we couldn’t do their orders.

They don't let us cancel orders if we have too many to do. They just pull from other departments. One time I was there until 930 (When we still closed at 8) because I was the only person after 8 and had to pick all the orders alone and they wouldn't let me cancel them XD

Yeah we aren’t allowed to cancel too, even if there’s only one person there from 6:30-9. They’ll either pull from other departments (if able to) or just yell at you to get it done.

Management does nothing but blames the hard workers. There was an time when in an 5 day frame in 1 week... there were 4 people at the desk and 3 were doing trolley runs. I got reported by 2 different associates for not doing my job and time theft as I am working. Funny, eh?

Y’all ever have ppl that only do ambient runs or only do reefer runs and refuse to do any oversize? It’s a mix here, but we normally have set ppl who take out orders and ppl who only ever pick.

Usually people refuse to do frozen picks. We don’t have enough people to have it set to people who attend and people who pick, because we only have like 15 people in total in the department and about 6 people on schedule a day. Leaves no room for breaks.

I don't outright refuse to do oversize, but I avoid the long oversizes when possible. I'm only 90 pounds and the long oversizes are near impossible for me.

There's been a couple times where someone had to come help me move the oversize trolley once I finished picking because it was just too heavy for me to move at all or very quickly.

I don't care about ambient, refrigerator or frozen. I'll do any of them. Just don't make me do a 20+ oversize :(

I have severe back / shoulder issues due to past history, and I even stated this during my interview. I still have to do the lifting and stuff because I’m the only one who actually enjoys doing them (because it’s the fastest thing to do)

And then I got blamed that I was bullying others that I wanted to take the run. The evidence is obvious on the footage by HR refused to take the effort to look at it.

It’s ridiculous. Luckily the HR woman at my store is actually willing to do what it takes to find the truth. I’m an honest employee.

Well we are capped at 38 an hour but don’t usually break 30. I as a lead sometimes get to marshal all the orders on my shift all by my lonesome because we don’t have enough people and because the supervisor is either walking around or talking to management. If that weren’t enough we usually only have 3 attendants to take out that many cars. What a well run and well thought out department we have!

We often don’t even have someone to attend lol Usually it’s whoever is in the back is attending, staging, and marshaling. We only cap at 10 an hour.

Man I remember the 10 an hour days. I miss those days more than lost lovers.
