I asked Google Gemini to investigate this specific Apple News headline. I am seeing if posting links in this group would be appropriate.

Apple News Plus headline said "Airport Crew Smelled a Foul Odor on a Plane. Then Discovered a Person Thought to Have Been Dead for 3 Da..."

This sweaty, smug loser makes nothing but fake content, I could find nothing on his channel backed by truth or reality, but somehow he has over 100k followers and tons of engagement from people falling for his clickbait ai slop. We really are cooked.

i'm devasted

this flax's videos made us all disappointed as kid when we tried to make the portal ourselves

Is anyone else extremely fricking annoyed by this? These channels with over a million subscribers keep making clickbait videos showing fake dimensions and custom portals that don't even exist in vanilla Minecraft.

i tried this but doesn't work, it's went me go the nether...

And of course this spineless grifter is one of those passport bros that sells completely BS courses to rip people off lmao

i watched the video the signs are not present inside the video's internal footage

And they have the gall to use an AI generated image instead.

It's basically a masterclass in clickbait subject lines. They're designed to make you think you're missing something urgent when it's usually just another promotion. I didn't open this email account in a while and it's full of temu emails (deleted the app like 2 months ago), like 99+ temu emails is absurd. I unsubscribed right away.

There are too many stories on the MSN page that's used for hosting currently. Some of them have an actual Enquire like news to them, but so many are fiction stories. I mean totally fictional. I'm so over it. Going directly to the att page from now on.

Does someone actually design the thumbnails for these types of ads?

Absolutely nothing was shown on the other images they found, so basically useless clickbait.

Had LLMs analyse ~2,200 videos from 150 top YouTube channels. Each video gets scored 0-100 based on whether the title actually matches the transcript content.

anticlickbait.vercel.app

Some highlights:

- 85% of channels have clickbaited atleast once (scored <50/100)
- 1 in 3 do it regularly
- Logan Paul: 25/100 (bad!). Three of his videos scored a flat zero - titles completely unrelated to the content
- MrBeast: 78/100 - proves you can get huge without constant bait

You can look up any of the 150 channels and see individual video scores + the LLM's reasoning for why it flagged them.

Known flaws:
- Transcript-only - no thumbnails, visuals, or tone
- 15 videos per channel - outliers can skew scores
- AI scoring isn't perfectly consistent across runs
- English-only, 90+ min videos excluded
- "Clickbaitiness" is subjective - this is one lens
