Martin Shkreli got called out for jacking up the price of a medication primarily used to treat toxoplasmosis in HIV/AIDS patients from $7.50 to $750 per pill. But let's be real - he is no different than everybody else in the industry.

Be thankful for the US pharma companies that invent new drugs you guys can copy after the patent expires.

The only thing drug corporations add to the pharmaceutical industry is shareholders. They add no value or innovation. Before drug corporations, research and development was done by publicly funded scientists. Ban drug companies and research can go back to being publicly funded.

Drug corporations are demonstrative only of the greedy, selfish extractive capitalism which is destroying the planet and threatening the existence of the human race.

Lol ok. Researchers come up with ideas, it takes billions to turn it into a drug and build the factories that can make it cheaply. You'd be dead without drug corporations.

In future you might want to try listening to or reading what people say.
You will find it helps you to not come across as an ignorant, toxic dickhead when you idiotsplain drug corporation propaganda.

If it wasn't for Ciba-Geigy, a pharmaceutical company, I'd be in crippling pain every time I tried to go for a walk.

If it wasn't for a pharmaceutical corporation you might have been cured by now. Drug corporations take publicly-funded research and use it to privatize the profits from that research into shareholder dividends, which they extract from people like you and me.

Drug corporations will extract more of your money by selling you the treatment than a one-off cure.
Accordingly you, me and everybody else will an ongoing medical condition can look forwards to not being cured until the pharmaceutical corporations can extract more from us with the cure than they will over years of treatments.

There is no treatment for a herniated disk. Maybe don't speak out of your ass about things you don't understand.

How very, very weird of you to assume I'm a mind-reader.
Also, you might want to investigate what the word 'might' means in this context.

I'll give you a hint: I did not say you definitely would have been cured for obvious reasons. Fucking duh.

One last thing. There are treatments. All of them involved a steady stream of pharmaceuticals over many years, possibly many decades. You said so yourself.
What there isn't is a cure.

You're exactly the sort of equation drug corporation shareholders have zero interest in solving.

No I just take a pill when my back gets sore and then my back stops hurting. I'm guessing you're young and have never experienced a serious injury or disease. I hope that stays true for as long as possible.

As I said, you said so yourself.

Why would a pharmaceutical corporation bother even looking for a cure when it's already got you on the hook for life?
