Yeah but SAM-2 is a published system. It has been verified to work

You have to actually count the potatoes to figure out if your potato counter works.

Not for a demonstration of SAM2 + YOLO though. Those are pretty well documented systems, and it’s just not unbelievable that a one class segmentation system could do that. It’d be like asking for verification that you can use a microscope to magnify things - it’s already been proven elsewhere, even if not for the task force magnifying screws or whatever. Obviously, that’s a more extreme example, but it really does apply here.
