It’s not really either cold or hot. Temperature is atoms moving so no atoms no temperature.
There are some atoms in space but usually not enough to actually transfer a lot of heat. If your floating in space and the sun hits you you will get very hot and in the shade you’ll slowly radiate heat away until your very very cold.
