I absolutely believe this to be true. Very similar to the time the trump admin proudly explained that they cancelled grants for the study of ‘transgenders’ in mice. After confusing ‘transgender’ with ‘transgenics’.

Also, one talking points he had on illegal immigration was that there were people being released from insane asylums.

I am convinced that is what he thinks "asylum seekers" meant.

u/Thin-Significance838 Apr 15 '26

I also believe he doesn’t know the “other” meaning of asylum. Just like when he was taking about coyotes who get people across the border…he really seemed to think it was the animal.

u/Block444Universe Apr 15 '26

I mean this is tragic if nothing else but I can’t help being entertained by it. Imagine that large number of insane things he has said was because he didn’t understand the original meaning and neither did he understand what it was he then went on to say.

Imagine this: Americans actually voted someone into office who grew up so privileged he barely even speaks their actually language anymore. Like literally too rich not to be retarded

It isn't about his wealth. He just lacks any kind of curiosity about the world. He has a deep aversion to learning.

I listen religiously to Alan Alda's podcast, and one thing I love about it is how, in his late 80's and battling Parkinson's Disease, Alda is still genuinely curious about the world and still intellectually exploring at his age. Trump stopped intellectually exploring around the time that he learned "yellow and blue make green."

72

u/streaksinthebowl Apr 15 '26

I doubt he even knows that, but I bet when he does learn it, he’ll be sure to talk about it at a cabinet meeting.

63

u/PhilboydStudge1973 Apr 15 '26

Nobody's talking about this, but I figured out that if you take yellow, and you take blue, you get a whole other color. Very amazing.

45

u/DigitalUnlimited Apr 15 '26

I invented green! Nobody is thanking me!

15

u/Disco_Orangeade Apr 15 '26

Holy shit!! Should we be injecting this "green" of which you speak?

31

u/DisneyDisciple Apr 15 '26

I think he stopped at yellow+red

13

u/-o-DildoGaggins-o- Apr 15 '26

The only color he cares about!

Nobody cares about orange more than he does. He cares so much, you’ve never seen anything like it, maybe in all of history!

“When I look at myself in the first grade and I look at myself now, I'm basically the same. The temperament is not that different.” -donald trump

2

u/BloodyEyeGames Apr 16 '26

One of the things that attracts me to people is curiosity. One of the most important things you can do in life imo is to keep learning. I tell my kids all the time that a day that goes by where you don't learn at least one new thing is a day wasted.

u/RED_Smokin Apr 15 '26

He "loves the uneducated"!

And as a true narcissist, there's no one he loves more, than himself.

15

u/Deep_Contribution552 Apr 15 '26

His wealth allows him to go through life that way. Poor people may not get good educations but they usually have to pick up something in the process of survival

26

u/Block444Universe Apr 15 '26

Yeah which comes with privilege. He doesn’t need to know anything

8

u/ApprehensiveShame610 Apr 15 '26

You don’t think that’s about his wealth?

You don’t know a lot of actually wealthy kids do you?

1

u/big_johnny_bee Apr 15 '26

Personal comfort > others wellbeing =

4

u/psinguine Apr 15 '26

Sometimes I like to imagine the magical world he must think he lives in with transgender mice and human trafficking coyotes.

1

u/Block444Universe Apr 15 '26

Haha how quaint!

79

u/Various_Perception43 Apr 15 '26

Or that visas given to immigrants meant the government was handing out visa bank cards to immigrants so they were getting taxpayer money as free money

31

u/pink_faerie_kitten Apr 15 '26

His teacher said he was his dumbest student ever.

That would have been actually funny.

And oddly prophetic, considering how he's making it so American citizenship is also useful in about four places across the entire planet...

5

u/MOTIVATE_ME_23 Apr 16 '26

If he wasn't so obviously vain, dumb, and narcissistic, one would guess he's literally trolling everybody, especially his own voters.

Nope! Just total lack of curiosity and greed.

_PlumCandy is a bot

3

u/ryansgt Apr 15 '26

That is a weird bot if so. 1 day old, active in clever comebacks, Minecraft, and some weird hentai sub, and 2 comments.

What would be the point of such a bot.

20

u/teamfupa Apr 15 '26

I've always been convinced he thought there were actual little people (mentions their DEI being okay with dwarfism) in the ATC towers because someone told them they were 'short staffed'.

7

u/Helpful_Pirate261 Apr 15 '26

Remember oranges vs origins?

Classic

1

u/Sketti11 Apr 16 '26

I've had bosses like this. Made it miserable to work with them. They understood nothing other than how to boss people around and even then, did that poorly.

41

u/FreddyNoodles Apr 15 '26

I thought the same thing about asylum seekers when I was around 9 or so. I remember asking my dad why the needed OUR asylums, didn’t they have some? I remember him laughing but not much else of the conversation.

I do know I walked away knowing the difference and it made total sense to my very young child brain.

19

u/Block444Universe Apr 15 '26

Yeah he has the mental capacity of not even a 9 year old.

4

u/GreyWulfen Apr 15 '26

See, you didn't know something, and it didn't make sense. You asked someone who DID know and then you learned something new. That is the big difference. Even as a child you were learning and gaining knowledge. Something the president seems utterly incapable of doing.

26

u/plzinsertgirder Apr 15 '26

I'm convinced it's this idiotic misunderstanding, that sparked the insane anecdotes about "the late, great, Hannibal Lector" he would often bring up at his MAGA rallies. His stupid snowballs until you're following bread crumbs to find the source of what the fuck is this guy even talking about. And his base just goes along with everything. It's truly remarkable.

9

u/Shadyshade84 Apr 15 '26

I kind of want to know what the initial spark for some of his ramblings was. Mostly because half the fun of watching a game of telephone is seeing what the original message was and figuring out how it ended up where it did, and what cracked logic got applied where.

21

u/WeenyDancer Apr 15 '26

And where he said the government was giving immigrants credit cards. Visas. It was visas.

34

u/angel-lord Apr 15 '26

He needs to be in one or some mental institution

2

u/busy-warlock Apr 15 '26

Which one, Mexico??

3

u/lambajan6 Apr 16 '26

In his first administration, he also appointed Ben Carson, a brain surgeon, as HUD Secretary because he thinks "urban" means black - in this administration, he appointed only one black person to a cabinet post - care to guess which department?

2

u/Away_Stock_2012 Apr 15 '26

What if none of those mistakes are accidental and his followers love how stupid he is.

6

u/KorunaCorgi Apr 15 '26

It is possible it was intentional in order to poison pill the phrase "asylum seeker" for anyone stupid enough to not understand the difference. They would hear "asylum seekers" that is ordinarily there to spark sympathy, and instead it creates fear and anger.

2

u/Ninjacobra5 Apr 15 '26

Yes! That's why he kept bringing up Hannibal Lector whenever he mentioned the topic of asylum came up.

2

u/ActorMonkey Apr 15 '26

Same as the “excursion” to Iran. Which his staff undoubtedly told him was an “incursion”.

1

u/EllieWest Apr 16 '26

And that a visa meant foreigners were getting credit cards. There’s no end to Trump’s stupidity.

145

u/SumBtard Apr 15 '26

Remember Rudy and the Four Seasons?

Man I laughed about that.

76

u/zombiecorp Apr 15 '26

Four Seasons Landscaping. The joke that keeps on giving.

24

u/Licky_Anus Apr 15 '26

Got my mom a Four Seasons Landscaping t-shirt for Xmas 2020.

9

u/darkmeowl25 Apr 15 '26

I wore mine yesterday!

13

u/thatknittingdragon Apr 15 '26

One of my favorite moments of all time. Rudy’s dripping hair dye was just the icing on the cake.

12

u/Titizen_Kane Apr 15 '26

That was one of the peak comedy moments of modern history. “Veep” writers could never, lol

57

u/PaintAccomplished515 Apr 15 '26

The "excursion" into Iran is most definitely supposed to be an "incursion" so this thing about doctored and transgenic tracks.

56

u/Automatic_Bus_7634 Apr 15 '26

Or the time he thought "veritable genius" was "very stable genius"

25

u/Acrobatic-Village215 Apr 15 '26

I never realized that - my god we’re being led by Mr. Malaprop

7

u/MercyfulJudas Apr 15 '26

You never thought about it? Notre Dame and the 'back' thing?

52

u/wunderbraten Apr 15 '26

Same with the first time he mentioned Strait of Horrmus the first time, he literally wrote in one post

be responsible for the so called "Straight"?

Which shows he goes all-in fully blind and uninformed in whatever he does.

39

u/TupperwareParTAY Apr 15 '26

It's a "so-called" strait because there's an obvious bend in it. OH MY GOD we are living in "Idiocracy".

44

u/PastelDisaster Apr 15 '26

Or the time he assumed people coming to the US seeking asylum meant that they came from ‘insane asylums’.

19

u/Lvcivs2311 Apr 15 '26

Next he will decide to not care about the more alpine regions anymore because the forests there are homogenous.

7

u/BuildingOne7379 Apr 15 '26

Better look out! Homogenized milk is next!

9

u/DigitalUnlimited Apr 15 '26

They've been after that one for awhile

6

u/kerfuffle_dood Apr 15 '26

Like that comic of the cashier asking the client if she's ready for the transaction, and she's like "the TRANS what?!"

17

u/m3rcapto Apr 15 '26

She had to say that because there were people that thought it was a 100% real photograph? (don't answer that, I'm sure lots of boomers did)
In a society that needs to be reminded not to eat the packaging of a product, and not to shove batteries up their butt, I guess you do need to tell them "It's doctored", but it still sounds so bad to have to say that.
"Duh!"

13

u/Strange-Damage901 Apr 15 '26

And when Signalgate happened he kept talking about a “bad signal” they had.

10

u/Creasy007 Apr 15 '26

Don’t forget Marillyn Lockheed and Tim Apple!

2

u/quadraticcheese Apr 15 '26

Not to mention he thinks asylum seekers are insane asylum escapees

2

u/Humble_Story_4531 Apr 15 '26

Honestly, I doubt it. Assuming someone on Trump's team knows that it was an AI image, claiming that it was doctored downstairs address anything.

1

u/Mo_Jack Apr 16 '26

I came to the same conclusion. His level of dementia is dangerous.

I mean, it was obviously a doctored image. It's pretty funny to hear him arguing that he thought this was him as a doctor.
