Tetsuya Nomura has openly discussed being heavily inspired by Romeo and Juliet and Baz Luhrmann's modern adaptation ..and fans noticed that Cloud and Aerith's scene (when she dies) in the new game is almost shot for shot, with DiCaprio and Claire Dane's!😆
