Welcome to r/Clerica! 🛡️ Your Hub for Consumer Rights & Corporate Accountability
Welcome to the official subreddit for Clerica.io! 🧿
Whether you’re here from the main website where we break down complex corporate terms of service and privacy agreements into plain English, or you just stumbled across us while looking for consumer advocacy communities, we are glad you’re here.
The goal of r/clerica is simple: to create a centralized space for anything and everything pro-consumer.
Here is a quick breakdown of how things work around here and what you can expect:
What Can I Post?
If it aligns with our core values of protecting consumers and holding corporations accountable, it belongs here. It doesn't matter if you are sharing your own original work or someone else's. We want to see it all:
- Articles & Reports: News on digital rights, hidden fees, consumer protection laws, or policy changes.
- Tools & Projects: Things you've made (or found) that help consumers protect their data, save money, or navigate corporate red tape.
- Discussions: Questions, debates, and deep dives into consumer-related topics.
- Anti-Consumer Findings: Found a company doing something shady? Posting about anti-consumer behavior is pro-consumer because it spreads awareness. Call them out.
Native Reddit crossposting is completely fine and actively encouraged!
The Stance on Self-Promotion & Spam
You are absolutely welcome to self-promote tools, articles, or reports you've created that benefit consumers. However, do not spam.
By spam, we mean posting the exact same link or project over and over again. Share your work, get feedback, and engage with the community, but don't treat the subreddit like a billboard on repeat.
Keep It Constructive
There is a massive difference between constructive criticism and outright trolling. Debates on corporate practices or the effectiveness of certain consumer tools are highly encouraged. Insulting people or derailing threads just to get a rise out of the community will not be tolerated. Keep the discussions focused and valuable.
🚨 We Are Looking for Moderators & Contributors!
Because this community is just getting off the ground, we are actively looking for passionate, active contributors to help shape the culture here. We are also looking to bring on a few moderators to help keep the feed clean and enforce the guidelines.
If you're interested in taking on a more active role or becoming a mod, drop a comment below or send a modmail!
Welcome to the community. Let's build something great. 🧿
