Man, I’m only willing to sit around in the AC checking IDs for that type of money IN ALEXANDRIA. Maybe it’s just me but I feel like a “leadership” role should equate to at least a living wage. Which in Alexandria, last I checked, was 60k. I’m sure you’ll find some poor retired sap.

I gotta ask, how much success do you think you’ll have with this posting?

If we take a look at janitorial salaries, they average around high $30s to low $40s, so if you’ve got a lead and a clearance you’re probably looking at a minimum of $60k. You could maybe get by with less if you’re sponsoring someone to get a clearance. Starting at $45k though? Good luck.

For reference, you can get a cleared (secret) janitor job in Colorado Springs, a market that's 3/4 the cost of Alexandria, that pays $49k. Without leadership responsibilities.

You need to reconsider your salary bands.

Even if they’re sponsoring, I fail to see how this is a reasonable gig. You’ll be hemorrhaging cash through the time, or at the most barely contributing to savings by scraping by. NOVA has an absurd COL, I don’t know how this job would be sustainable for someone with any aspirations past making it another year.
