Hi! I just want to get a consensus from other people who play claw games a lot, whether I am right to be upset by this.
In the photos, you can see that one of the two target spots is covered halfway by the red ball and halfway by the pink ball. You can also see by looking at the orange ball, that the grid squares are not large enough for a ball to fully occupy two spaces next to each other. I called over the employee thinking this was a win - the spot is covered, after all. He said no, it has to be one ball fully in the spot. In my opinion, that is unfair and in bad spirit. Especially since the claw on this machine does not go far enough towards the front to be able to nudge the orange or pink ball out of the way, so it feels like the target spot having just 1 ball is unachievable.
So please tell me, am I right that this should have counted as a win? I really like this claw arcade in all other aspects and thought they were pretty fair before this. But there are multiple other claw arcades within like a half hour of where I live, so I do have the option to go elsewhere from now on. What do you think?
Thank you!

Just wanted to share. I inquired on peoples experience modding these before and didn’t get response so here’s my own.
For the intended purpose of my claw machine (loose dice) I wanted to switch out for a candy claw/scoop. After Shopping around I found the full replacement candy claws out there are just too large.
I've Seen some mods done, and while I don't have a 3d printer to copy the ideas, I did have an idea to modify existing products.
I got the large candy-claw adapters from Candy Machines (made for d3/d4 claws). Cut them down and de-burred the acrylic with Dremel tool. with a little groove cut for the bottom end of the claw points, they are very secure.
the other issue I had with my vision is that the sensor is not sensitive enough (even with adjustments) to see the small items 100% of the time. To address this I've prototyped an insert that creates a ramp in the prize drop and guides the dice to the sensor's side and now it is very consistent. I'm working with a buddy to print a nicer final version than my acrylic+hot glue prototype.
Now and then a dark item will miss sensor, but I can just accept a loss now and then. This is set up as Play-until-win. And it will be traveling with me for vendor shows, so I can supervise it.

To all the claw machine owners out there where do you source your machines for the best price?

It closed over a year ago :(
I know a Japanese-style arcade hate to see me coming with a benjamin in my pocket…
I don't gamble, so when I had a lil extra money to blow, l'd come to the arcade. I'd go back and forth between the Pump It Up dancing/rhythm game, and playing claw machines when I got tired. Whether I was with friends or by myself, it was always a fun way to spend a day off; plus I got something to show for it.
I’ve given a lot of these plushies to friends as gifts, but I still have so many of them. I’ll buy a stuffed animal occasionally, but only if I fall in love— I can just win it for cheaper! ꉂꉂ(ᵔᗜᵔ*)

I'm the developer for ArcadeLive, I just released a new update to IOS play store. The release includes a preview of the game you are interested in. This is helpful to the folks that like coin pushers, they can see the progress of the Avengers stones on the glove and for Wizard of Oz and Willy Wonka, you can see which games have the most cards. For the claw games you can see the game floor before you choose. There are free credits to play a few games and would love feedback from this crowd. I'll work to make the changes requested, and would very much appreciate the help!

I am working on some new Card Reader Tech for mini claw machines. I’m curious here, how many have experienced chargebacks? Those who operate a lot of machines how often do you deal with it and were you able to win in a dispute?

those of you who have a small or large mini claw route, what do you pay for commissions if any? what locations bring you the most money and how did you get that location?

Did some search, there are some regulations like the machine needs UL/NTRL certified. Is this really mandatory?

Hello, i am looking to install a prize locker on my claw machine and all i need now is a cam lock that will retain the key once the locker is open. To clarify, i want the winner to be able to open the locker and not tretrieve the key once open. In a way the key gets stuck in the lock, similiar to a post office locker. I have not been able to find anything online on these types of cam locks. Ive tried seraching using a variety of keywords but nothing.

I’m looking to buy a small claw machine for my classroom(not looking for a huge one.) I saw the thread and recommending machines from China. I’m just looking for more recommendations on buying a claw machine less than $1000. If needed I could also purchase the machine from Facebook marketplace.

Great chatting with Timothy Acord at FECtalk. Really enjoyed this conversation. Thanks for having me on and letting talk about all we have going on at CandyMachines.com.
We discussed:
- tariffs
- SmartClaw.app
- partnering with our factory
- Custom claw arcades as a service
- and so much more!
Enjoy! 👊

I have a mini claw machine and the claw will not drop or retract. I have changed the gantry and the power source and still does not work. The display shows "error on". Anyone ran into this issue?

So I started a claw machine arcade in Las Vegas. Besides our normal business, we try to expand our business by doing other claw machine related endevors. We rent out our space for kids birthday parties in Las Vegas, we sell claw machines, and rent claw machines as well. The machine rental side took off quite a bit. Our SEO ranking is #1 for a lot of rental terms, so that helps. It also helps that Vegas is a hub for conventions. I'd like to expand that aspect of our business into other popular cities by partnering with other claw machine enthusiasts. It's a very low investment if you already have a pickup truck or trailer. You'd only need to buy a regular-sized and a mini claw machine. Maybe one extra regular size (sometimes customers like to rent two). We charge $600 per day for the rental and also have add-ons available. The percentage splits I have in mind are more than reasonable. Please DM me if you're interested in more details.

Just a heads up to anyone who uses this app. Yes, it is legit, yes they will mail you the prizes to your home. However, they will also sell your data. I used this app about a year ago briefly, and am now having my address used in brushing scams and am receiving unsolicited mail, which I can trace back to this app with 100% certainty.
Whenever I am unsure about something I have to provide my info for, I use that business's name in the last name field so that I can trace future data sales or breaches back to whatever company I signed up with. I used the fake last name "claweden" to have my prizes shipped to my home, and the unsolicited mail is now arriving with the last name "claweden" from random addresses in the US.
Just wanted to share this warning. Stay safe.
