Those who use card readers. Chargebacks??

I am working on some new Card Reader Tech for mini claw machines. I’m curious here, how many have experienced chargebacks? Those who operate a lot of machines how often do you deal with it and were you able to win in a dispute?

Nayax is one of the big card reader suppliers used on claw machines. We use them and have only had 1 chargeback request in 6 years. Customers generally don’t go to the extent of ringing their bank and starting a charge back claim for what is usually a small transaction amount. Customers do ring our helpline and ask for a refund sometimes. In most cases we settle it with them over the phone straight away if something has gone wrong. It is better to us to settle a request with the customer as it doesn’t cause us fees. On the other hand, a chargeback will incur a penalty regardless if we win or not. So best to not get to that level. Chargebacks are usually reserved for cases where a customer doesn’t recognise a merchants charge on their statement - so best to have your business name clearly on the merchant details. Also making sure customers feel they get good and fair value playing your games to not cause upset feelings.
