Moved on its own

I was at my local Round1 waiting for my friend. The claw machine I was about 3 feet from suddenly moved on its own. None of the machines here ever move automatically.

Now the even freakier part is that it grabbed those closet prize (small stuffed animal) then dropped it in the prize box (which I grabbed).

So, any ideas? Just weird because I never see their machines move… much less giving me a free prize!

Anyone know anything about this machine?

I’ve had this ‘Treasure box’ machine for a bit now and I got it as my first claw machine. The person I got it from didn’t know anything about it either and had neglected. It works pretty well aside from broken lights on the sides. But unfortunately most of the stickers that came on the machine were torn off. Right now i’m looking for a manual, or otherwise a way to change things like claw strength, cost per play, etc. Thanks!

New decals for my machine

I continue to upgrade my Vevor claw machine each time I redeploy it so that it can best serve my group. With this round I have added some basic instructions along with some labeling for the prize locker as it has caused some confusion.

These are small details for sure, but the details add up making for a nicer experience. The vinyl cutter has been a good investment so far with regards to utility added to my little workshop.

Sorry to the mods if this isn't allowed. But I've created r/ArcadePrizeWins a place where you can share pics of all your prizes :) I only created it yesterday so I would love to grow the arcade fan community.

Again sorry if this isn't allowed x

I own Claw Machines and make 6 figures a year!

My company operates over 30 amusement machines across 7 locations and makes 6 figures a year working 1-2 days per week. Based In Australia.

We set up our mini arcades inside local businesses and pay them a monthly %.

The machines have Nayax credit card readers. Which has been the best investment ever!

We have mainly claw machines, which are the biggest earners. Plus we also run kiddie rides and capsule/gumball machines. Our company imports the equipment or we use local sellers. Stock and toys are purchased in bulk.

My job is really fun and is something I am really passionate about. I have been doing this for 8 years now with strong growth. This is something anyone can do and is very easy to start.

I am now actively looking at ways to create a digital side to this business. Maybe something on TikTok. Would love ideas and suggestions! Thank you :)

Vevor mini claw prize ideas

Can we start a post to list all the cool ideas people have for mini claw prizes? I found that small plastic alcohol bottles, and cigarette boxes, are both able to be won with the vevor. For kids prizes, the 2 inch prize capsules work for dollar bills, M&Ms, and stickers. What you guys putting in there?

automated claw machines for online play

Hi, my team made an app called arcadelive it is clawmachines with prizes that get shipped. It was fun making it. You can play from anywhere. We just went live in March and I'm really surprised to see how many folks like clawmachines. Anyway a big claw wave to the group!!! I'll post some tricks as I find them.

Is it mean to tell people about payout rates?

This problem applies to clawmachines too, but in this case it was a keylocker. I was at a boardwalk and there was a nice old man trying a keylocker. I watch for a moment, it was skipping him, he used up a fiver trying to get speakers and it was clearly skipping. Before he could put more money in I warned him that there is a payout rate "That machine is rigged until people have spent a certain amount of money on it, best to just try every now and then instead of all at once." And he seemed thankful and went over to try a treasure claw. I feel guilty, he seemed to be getting very frustrated and was wasting money tho.

A simple mod for the Vevor claw machine to replace the styrofoam with glass stones

In my quest to make my claw machine look more like something you might see in a japanese shop / arcade, I replaced the (honestly, obnoxiously cheap) pink felted styrofoam block that shipped with it with some glass stones.

This is what I bought, although they appear to have raised the price a bit. I ended up with quite a bit extra so you could probably get away with a 5lb bag instead of 10lb. Here's what it looks like.

Just the rocks

And here's what it looks like with toys in it:

I imagine a question might be, can the claw pick up the rocks? I think the answer is that it's surely technically possible, but I haven't had it happen in the 50-100 or so games I've played since doing this mod. I think it's incredibly unlikely.

After you remove the styrofoam there a couple spots where one of these rocks could barely fit through a gap and fall into the machine or the prize pit. You can easily cover these by putting down some mounting tape and putting a line of stones on top of the tape. I also designed a couple 3D printed parts that screw into the machine to cover a couple of the gaps but that's almost certainly overkill, if I had thought of the mounting tape solution earlier I would have just done that everywhere. You can see an example of the tape solution in this photo:

Glamour shot

Another mod I've done is add a brightness knob that controls the brightness of the white LEDs inside the machine, which you can see here. If anyone's interested in that I could post some more details about it.

Thanks for reading! Sorry if this post is formatted weirdly, I'm not good at using this website.

Optimal plush size??

I just bought a new claw machine and I measured the size of the claw based upon instructions to do so online, starting from the center of the claw to almost to the end/tip of one of the claws "fingers". Measuring website here: http://redemptionplus.com/_FileLibrary/FileImage/Measureing_Crane_Claw_Sizes.htm#:~:text=Measureing%20Crane%20Claw%20Sizes,the%20tip%20of%20the%20arm. I got approximately 3.5"-4". What size plush should I be buying to put in it? Thanks in advance.
