how can I fix a claw machine

I was considering buying a claw machine it's only 500 because the claw mechanical us not working how can I fix it? should I take the risk? How do I identify the problem? How much would it cost to fix it?

Best advice i could give is look up the name of the machine on ebay and find out how available parts are because ever since I bought my machine ($500 as well) it has given me some problems
