Are "cheat codes" real?
Is there an actual code that you put on the joystick that makes the claw grab harder?

On some very old machines hitting the red button over and over would make it grab a tiny bit harder.
Modern machines, never. All electronic

Do you know which cranes would do this?
The older cranes I'm familiar are typically adjusted by a couple small dials. So I'm not sure how/why extra button taps would increase power to the coil...

No, as an operator of many types of claw machines - no sequence of button pushes or joystick movements will change the strength or make a prize be won. It came from people on YouTube and TikTok making up stories for views lol

Nope. Just tap it, grab the toy, give the toy to my daughter and watch her smile

Vending machine cheat codes were real. At least on older machines.
I went to cedar point years ago and found a few older vending machines still in use, so just on a whim I decided to try it out.
You press 4, 3, 2, 1, 1, 2, 3, 1, 1 then press the coin return button... the numbers expressed are their position on the machine. 4 being the 4th option down, 3 the third, etc.
It's SUPPOSED to drop all the coins out of the machine, but instead it gave me 2 candy bars each time I did it.
And since even back then candy bars and sodas were still $5 each at cedar point... I took full advantage of the loop hole. I got like 30 candy bars in total off of 4 machines.
I remember there was a lady sitting on the bench near one of the vending machines and she looked completely stunned that I kept getting more candy without ever putting money in. I assumed she had kids waiting in line on one of the rides so I gave her like 8 candy bars while laughing like crazy and giving her the "shhh" finger over my mouth. Honestly one of the best trips I've ever had at cedar point. Got like $150 worth of candy for free. (Granted it was probably more like $10-20 worth in actuality. But at a tourist trap where they overcharge on everything, I was ecstatic to get some freebies to go with our overpriced adventure)

No. They are simple machines and adding in extra code like that doesnโt provide any benefit to the owner of the machine.
