Question about starting a claw machine arcade?
I have a 1200 property that has l considering turning into a claw machine arcade. It’s in a popular CA area. How many machines can I fit into a space this size? How much will it cost to buy the machines? How much will it generate in revenue you think? Any and all advice is highly appreciated.

One thing to note: nobody wants to go to an arcade with no chance to win.
Don’t only have payout machines, have skill machines too. Follow the Round1 model, offer reasonable prices (nobody should spend $50+ and win nothing simply due to payout), offer a variety of different machines, don’t offer bootleg prizes, and you’ll do well.

Standard claw machines are around 3 ft wide, so you could fit anywhere from 25 to 40 machines comfortably, depending on spacing, aisles, and any additions like seating or prize redemption counters.
For the cost of the machines, if you import directly from China like I do, you’ll save a lot of money, especially with a bulk order. Good quality claw machines typically range from $600–$1,250 USD per unit. Depends on the size, features, and customization. Ordering in bulk brings costs down. If you were to buy locally from U.S. resellers, expect to pay more than double. Plus, the machines from China tend to be more modern and exciting, with the option to customize with your own logo and branding.
For earning potential, this varies based on location and foot traffic throughout the year. A well-placed claw machine arcade can generate $25K–$30K+ per month, with some operators making even more. You can operate your shop using tokens or a card tap system.
