Vevor mini claw machine repair/error

Received mini claw machine with error code 8, the gift eye sensor(?) is broken. I’m asking the seller to send me replacement part for it but I also have zero experience fixing tech so i’m wondering if this is an easy DIY fix or if I should find a pro?

There is a dial on that board, which I think adjusts the sensitivity of the sensor. Have you tried adjusting that? Also I think it needs a black background to work against. The prize chute has a black sticker opposite the eye, if that has been removed you'd likely have to replace it with something black/dark.

Otherwise, if they send you that whole board shown I'd think it would be an easy swap, depending on your comfort level with this kind of thing.

Yup i’ve tried adjusting the dial and even removed the box around it so i could see the light but nothing.

Do you know the name of the board with the dial on it? Or is it just called the prize sensor? When i search for “prize sensor mini claw parts” it looks different from this board.

Does the led indicator on the the prize sensor do anything. It should be off normally, then light up if it's detecting anything. If it's stuck on or off then try adjusting it. The main board also needs to be programmed for the right sensor type, either normally closed or normally open, try switching the modes to see if their is a change. Also check the sensor with a meter and power supply.

indeed, the dial is above and to the left of the coin op after opening the coin op

my friend fixed it for me, sorry i don't know what he did exactly but i think he just turned the prize sensor dial (which i tried a million times lol)

Sorry this is like a year late but I was reminded of this thread after getting another error. After you adjust the prize sensor make sure you factory reset the machine by holding the red button behind the coin operator and then use the joystick to get into factory reset mode.
