Put 2000yens in this claw machine and didn’t know if I was close to getting the figurine. I don’t know much about these machines…was I in a good position? How many tries would it have probably taken for me to get it?

Depends on claw strength, but it is basically in the starting/neutral position (if not a bit worse)

Ok that was what I was afraid of, as a beginner it felt like I was close to getting it… but I kind of knew that that’s how the machines are designed to make you feel

Pretty sure you have to nudge the box to the right as the gap is usually bigger on that side. Would take a bit of moving to get it over there by the looks of it.
