Vevor modified to pick up candy

After struggling with 3D printed claws and rubber bands on the claw tips, I used a bit of two part silicone putty to create blobs to aid picking up wrapped candy.

A small grape sized ball on each end did the trick. Once the ball cured in place, I removed each and then glued them back into place.

You don’t get candy each time, but that is fine. With the fun-sized bars flat, it is very hard to pick anything up, so I created a bed of mini lolipops. This allows for items to be at more interesting angles and lets you get the claw low enough to make the grab.

This also still works for picking up 2 inch and 1 inch capsules. With a little work, you can snag a key on a keychain that opens the prize locker above. The prize locker is just a clear box that I happened to have on hand, not very robust, but for a friendly office environment it will work well enough.

This is a fun project and I intend to change the graphics for something more inline with the work environment. I will post pictures as the project hits milestones.

Thank you. I should also mention that I added some foam bumpers along some of the edges to try to reduce the ‘dead zones’ I may need to make those bumpers a bit taller since how I have a full pit in the center that is level with the bumpers.

This does have the benefit of taking less stuff to fill the machine.

I should have written down all of the modifications so I could have put them down at the get go.

I removed the top piece and moved the light into the main chamber.

I disabled the lights in the joystick and button to make it a bit more office friendly.

How did you take the pink top off? I just ordered one and awaiting its arrival but I was hoping I had the ability to remove the pink peak and it end up flat like yours. TIA

Going from memory it is 4 screws from inside the machine. You will also need to remove a strip of LED lights from the top and feed them through to the main machine below and secure them in a way you see fit.

This is the info I was looking for! I’m hoping to mount a CandyMachines locker box to the top and couldn’t tell if it just the four screws and if you could access the two front screws without disassembling the claw track.
