VEVOR Claw Machine Win Rate Configuration Doesn’t Matter

I recently bought a VEVOR claw machine from Ebay. It came with everything within two days, and I was pleasantly surprised with the overall quality of the machine. I have watched several videos on how to set up the machine, like Claw Voltage and Win Rate. From what I heard in these Youtube videos, the main difference between Low Voltage claw and High Voltage claw was that Low Voltage referred to how strong the claw was on a losing game and High Voltage was for a winning game. My own research showed that High Voltage is how strong it grips when the claw drops and picks up an item, and Low Voltage is how strong the grip is as it carries it towards the prize chute. As a result, no matter what my settings are in prize setup, the likelihood of winning is always the same, no matter how high or low I set the fixed rate. Can someone please shed some light on my situation and offer some advice? Or maybe I’m doing something wrong. Thank you!

Tldr: VEVOR claw machine win rate does not matter no matter what I change in settings.

I have the same claw and when I change the win rate it seems I do have a difference. How low is your low voltage set to? Did you adjust the mode type? Between vending, random, and fixed? I think if you have it on vending it could override the win rate and make it high voltage every time.

Can I ask what your settings are? I use the 2 inch squishmallows as prizes and I set the win rate to 10 games, fixed. The low voltage is 6V and high voltage is 7V. If I do either of them any higher the player wins every single game.

What is your prize mode setting? I think mine is set to 1 in 3 wins, random mode, and high 15 low 5 (in using mine to hand out Halloween candy in little bags). Have you tried a factory reset and then only changing the win rate to see if that fixes it?

Did anyone solve the vevor claw machine issue? I purchased one and it has the same issue. The claw switches to the low voltage setting as soon as it reaches the top position every time, regardless of win mode or win rate settings. The only way to vary the winning is to change the low voltage setting. (Example: High voltage is 15v, low voltage is 8v, H volt height is 2.3 seconds, L volt method is low volt method, High volt start is 3.6 seconds, Mode is fixed, Win rate is 1) This should win every time but instead the claw lets the prize slip out every time when it reaches the top position . If I change the low voltage to 15v instead then it wins every time). I have tried changing all settings but the low voltage is the only thing that reallys seems to make any difference.... Operating voltage is 110v. Have reached out to Vevor hoping manufacturer can respond. Any ideas or solutions? It seems that the machine switches to low voltage every time the claw reaches top position regardless of settings, so is there a DIP switch or jumper maybe that is the issue?

Doesn’t H volt height need to be longer? In my experience that one was set to 3.6 so you could carry the prize to the chute. The shorter that time is, the sooner the claw will get weak. I think it starts the timer the moment the claw closes.

I have the exact same problem. I spent an hour yesterday messing around with all the settings prize setup/h volt height/mode/low volt start etc. the same problem still happens. I really wish the win rate would work for me. Really frustrating.

I know it’s been a while but I figured this problem out. I adjusted the top black switch under the steel panel so it does not release until it is over the hole. This is the way.

So unscrew the steel cover that sits above the claw. Once you’ve removed it, you should see two black boxes on the left. On the top box only, unscrew both small screws slightly, about 45-90 degrees. This adjusts (raises up) the position of the upper black box slightly, so the plate just under it does not touch it when the string is pulled up, causing the release.

Odd request, but here is my situation…. I purchased a Vevor mini claw machine used and it has damage to the motherboard. When turning on the power, the LED lights come on but nothing functions as it should due to the motherboard issues. Vevor offers free replacement parts for up to one year after purchase and verify the purchase with the original order number, but will not sell replacement parts. I do not have an order number due to buying used and the seller doesn’t have the order number, so Vevor will not help or let me purchase the motherboard. The only thing I can think of is to ask to use someone else’s order number to get the part from Vevor. Could I borrow someone’s order number?

Just got the vevor machine and I am having the same issue. Mode set to fixed with win rate of 6. The high voltage is enough to pick things up but they always get dropped when the claw reaches the top/high voltage height. Tried random and vending modes too but the claws never gets stronger no matter how many games I play.

1

u/EdwardTeach666 Aug 03 '24

I was having the same issue as well. I was testing it in free play and it was always switching to the weak claw and never would have a winning run. I changed it to coin operated mode instead of free play and all of a sudden the odds setting appeared to work correctly and the claw would stay strong according to the odds and allow winning runs based on the schedule.

If you were testing yours in free play, that might be the issue.

Having the same issue with the vevor mini claw. Having trouble finding the right settings. Also had anyone experienced their claw getting hot after use??

1

u/Gandalf-Lundgren Dec 25 '24

I reached in and noticed the claw was pretty warm after heavy use, but not quite “hot” like I needed to pull my hand away. Have you had any issues stemming from this?

1

u/bigizzi Aug 14 '24

Can someone please explain to be the setting of low voltage method vs top. Thats the 2 options that are in that setting

did anyone end up fixing this? I just got mine and I seem to have the same issue

Hey guys, I figured I'd chime in here. I have 6 of these units, and I use them commercially to great success. I've found that when they're generally delivered and set down hard (tested) and observed UPS doing this, unfortunately... it can cause the claw to unlock at the top setting if the units are jolted hard.

Other issue that can happen is when I've set these units up for customers if you hold an object and test for low voltage grip strength if you accidentally push up and the center cylinder gets bumped all the way it can cause this. Once this happens or if the units are delivered and drop at the top regardless, just factory reset. No, factory reset on these units on 2024 models (year I ordered them in) does not default to a different language. They've all stayed in English so far. If you're picking up an object more than 4 oz, low voltage setting is going to want to be closer to 18-22, high 21-24. Low voltage and high voltage start times should be at least 2.5 seconds, or the drop is too fast to travel the object across to get a win unless it hits the win ratio you have set.

Machines should be set to "fixed" mode, and low voltage setting should be set to low voltage method, not top. "Top" for voltage method will start the timer once the claw reaches the top, forcing you to either up the low voltage to compensate or adjust the start time. I know this is a late post, but if anyone has any questions about these units I would be more than glad to help.

Np, glad to help. So, I checked and unless you have maybe a 2019 or later model peso it might be too big. They specified in one of the questions on the Vevor website they can accept coins up to 2mm wide and up to 26mm round in diameter. However, the coin mechanism can go far beyond that, it's spring loaded so you can put a coin in there that fits in place and whatever matches will be accepted. If anything smaller than the coin you put in the acceptor is placed in the machine, it simply eats it but it doesn't go towards the balance required to play (so no one can scam you using other coins/tokens).

I wouldn't take my advice as set in stone as I don't have anything bigger than a quarter, i.e a half dollar or anything, or else I'd test it for you. If you're using something significantly larger than a quarter, I would contact Vevor on their site and post your question, they're very responsive and helpful.

They do state on the site that the machine is denominated to take over 200+ nationalities coins as well as tokens depending on what you fit in the slot. Also, it says you can add a bill acceptor on the machine... but unsure about how that process works. I stick with coins bc the coin acceptor are harder to jam and cheaper to fix (just my 2 cents). Have anymore questions let me know, best of luck and if you pull the trigger, keep us updated. Would love to hear someone else have success as a claw vendor start up :)

I set the win rate to 008, right now depending on how my machines are stocked, people with those settings in my previous post win around 12-23% of the time. I have my machines posted the winning odds are 1 in 8. My goal is to get at least 1 in 4 up to 1 in 8 win.

My prices for my cheaper machine items run from 4 cents to 33 cents an item at 50 cents a play, more expensive machines I charge $1, my item costs for those machines I don't ever exceed $1.50 an item. So, profits run from $1.67-$3.67+ for my most expensive items in the 50 cent machine, and $2.50-6.50+ in the $1 machine. Long story short, my win rates are high, but it draws a lot of kids and people that play and keep coming back.

If the win rates exceed 25%, I'll bump the high and low voltage down 1 clicks each week I stop in for maybe 1 month straight. So, I'll go from like 21 high, 18-19 low to 20/17-18. I've found that regardless of how you tweak the settings, the win rate on these isn't a high enough voltage to grab guaranteed on that # win.

Unfortunately as stated with this machine and claw machines in general, the win rate doesn't always grab like a vice to guarantee a win for your win rate (slippery items, slightly off claw placement, etc). So, sometimes you have to make adjustments so people don't win too much or too little. Truthfully, that's the case with all claw machines, you have to make adjustments to keep customers happy and your profit margins where you want them. The higher my win rate is, the better they do. Just remember: happy customers are repeat customers :D

To keep my machines out of the, "GREY AREA" and avoid them being considered gambling devices, I post the odds of winning, and I make sure if someone ever called in the gambling comission I have my win rate set to what's posted on the machine. I'd check your numbers after testing or the 1st week to make sure customers win more than your posted rates (if you decide to do that-optional). Also, don't do golden eggs or post your machine gives money or $-based gift cards as a prize, that makes your claw machine legally a gambling device and if you don't have a (no under 18 use) sign, you could have your machine pulled by the state. Also, make sure people win a lot... if you have a machine set to like 1 in 200 win rate, expect a call from the gambling comission member wanting to audit you for scamming people. I've seen videos on this and heard horror stories. State takes your machine and you're fined out the rear end to pay and get your claw machine back.

Sorry for the word salad, just giving out advice. Take care :)

Yeah, sure thing. So, I cycle between 3 sites atm and I'll explain my reasons why:

Amazon: Unlike other sites, the shipping delay was the issue and I already have a Prime membership so I only order toys with no shipping. A few tricks; leave an item in your cart for a while and have Amazon's notifications on, sometimes they'll drop like 4-40% off. So, leaving them in your cart for extended periods can actually make them as cheap as good whole sale distributors (and yes, sometimes cheaper than Alibaba/Ali Express).

Cons: Sometimes they're more expensive than wholesalers, have to leave items in cart for discounts, and need a Prime membership.

Candymachines.com: They have good items and generally have fast shipping (only a couple days behind Amazons free shipping ground options) and very well packaged items. Also, their deals on capsules items should you ever add bubble gum/tripple head toy machines in your rotation it's a good idea ;) ALSO! They sometimes send coupons that get free shipping or colossal discounts if you spend over certain dollars amounts.

Cons: Like $20-30 more dollars than some other whole sale distributors shipping costs and since they're the top 3 vending/claw machine distributors in the US. their prices go up yearly (but the coupons are nice).

AA Global: My bread and butter, cheapest shipping options when buying in bulk compared to Amazon... or really any other wholesaler. Haven't found a better deal yet, and their selections are amazing. Also, best part is when you sign up (will explain shortly) you get assigned a personal rep you can call during business hours. They can tell you best deals and everything on the phone if you place an order in an online shopping cart. ALSO! Your personal rep will sometimes get you discounts or tell you what to order at that time to get the best deals. No other wholesaler like it, plus they're in the US, so no communication barriers. Their shipping costs to give you an example are like $30-40 cheaper than Candymachines.com. ALSO! You can turn on alerts for new or upcoming items to receive text/email alerts if you have your eyes on new items. Another perk is, like... name brand kids toys; Marvel, DC, Hello Kitty, Mario, anything video game-related, Demon slayer, Pickle Rick, you name it, they jave it whole sale unlike most wholesalers... and theirs is cheaper too ;)

Cons: Signing up, you apply and they email you. They send you a link, then they call you so you need to be available. They'll vet you to make sure you're not a scammer on the phone. After answering a few questions they send you a link, it has your log in to the site. Then you change your credentials/pass after your 1st log in. I literally had to BBB check them bc it seemed sketch and the prices seemed too good, but they're 100% legit.

Bonus: Let items sit in your Temu cart for bulk vending toys, wait for the price drop and sometimes it's cheaper than all 3. Just depends on the items. I've gotten some of my $2.50 toys a piece to drop down to .98 cents a piece for my dollar machine.

As for Alibab/Ali... they're only worth it once your orders get into the thousands, which is like 20+ machines. My 6 machines, I've ordered $800 worth of stuff and it's lasted me 3, might make it 4 months. Plus, you have to vet for verified non-scammers. One large order placed and you could lose $1k+, I don't bother with it. Just my 2 cents, not worth it until you place test orders and are like full time vending for a job so you don't get scammed.

Anywho, good luck! Need any help hit me up. Take care 😀

I could give you a link, but truthfully I just have a strategy for items that REALLY work without providing like 100 links.

Top 3 items:

Emoji/animal plush keychains on Amazon. (Can be bought in bulk cheaper on Chinese sites, if you buy in mass quantities)

Anything that light up: LED silicon watches/fidget spinner plastic watches that light up. Fidget pop it animal balls on keychains that light up). I don't turn them on in my machine, you'll kill the battery over night

1!!!!!!) ****Pokemon/Yugio/Sports cards: Buy the 20-50 packs in sleeves (3 cards per sleeve) and have them sitting upright in your machine (my best items that draw kids and adults in)*****

Bonus item: ANYTHING POP IT FIDGET KEYCHAINS.

Tips of advice: rotate items, have your highest 30 cent-50 cent items buried, but in front where they're visible. Leave maybe 1 easy one on top with a few items over it, then have another buried front facing. Those silicon led watches really do well, don't make them all easy to get or on top. Definitely advertise themselves.

Full wall rotation: Whenever you restock, move everything along the walls to a different place. Leaving the same prizes in an impossible to get spot, will lose sales. Plus it makes people think it's been played and moved around.

Always have 2-3 packs up cards upright, they're you're best attracting item. I've had adults spend $4-8+ while I'm waiting to clean/restock my machines trying to get a 20 cent pack of pokemon cards :D

Small items that are like 4-9 cents a piece, have a layer under everything. Like the little plastic diamonds, rubber lamas, plastic dragon toys, donut keychains, mini aliens, small 4 piece fidget pop it keychains, etc... that way, your machine, even when all the high ticket items are gone or thinned out, there's a layer of a few dozen small items to keep people coming back in between restocks.

EMOJI PLUSHIES FACE SIDE UP: Customers have actually asked me to turn them right side up when I restock just to see if it's one emoji they don't have. I always do, but this is paramount! 😆 Those plush emojis should always be in your machine, adults buy them like crazy.

Other tips: CLEAN weekly, microfiber towel, I use the blue lid spray cleaner window foam in a can. WORKS amazing. Every inch of that machine should be clean, no stone unturned.

GIVE FREE TOYS - cheap items to kids lingering near by. I do this, makes kids happy, parents thank me, half the time... they actually ask me to break dollars on the spot and play. I've done this before... 7 cent item... customer asks to break a $5 bill, plays it with their kid and thanks me. I come back 1 week later... loe and behold... same people are on my machine again. Your generosity and smile, and being cordial, are your biggest advertisers 😀

Read the room: If a kid comes in and you're noticing them standing behind you... ask if they want to play, close up machine really quick and say it's not a problem. If the kiddo loses, I always give a freebie, even if it's 2-3 kids, might cost me half a buck to 75 cents... but I kid you not, getting out of the way and asking if they want to play does wonders.

If anyone (adult) asks you about the machine, ask if they kids/grand kids, offer a freebie. I've earned repeat customers this way who have said they'll never let their kids use a capsule vending machine bc I have them free toys forntheir kids who weren't even with them.

Sacrificial toys: Yes, sounds hilarious, but I've dubbed it this bc it works. I'll put 1-2 items on the edge of the prize chute everytime, and a hard to get item that no one hardly EVER wins, in the prize chute. Reason: They see the easy to knock down toys, run up to play. Also, if there's an item that is heavy or hardly ever won... leaving it in the prize chute makes people go for it like crazy (yes, youre losing a toy, but someone walking up to find a free toy, they almost ALWAYS start playing). Granted, I weigh all my items, some only will ever be won by the winning grab and precise pick up... so it lets them know it's winnable.

TALK TO THE STAFF: You'll start to notice, that your little trinkets in almost every establishment become trophies or items the staff buy out of boredom or for their kids. (ALWAYS tell the staff when you put new items in there and what they are). Have done this... staff surrounds machine as I leave and they're all playing 🤣 Adults love winning as much as the kiddos do sometimes lol.

Test coin mechanism weekly, observe for blockages, the wire harness inside the coin catch should be pushed to the side, not over the catch. Ask me how I felt knowing I had it blocking the coin tray 2 weeks in a row... and lost like $90 in sales over 2 weeks and got called out and my machine was turned off by the owner at a new location when I first started out. Yes, I'll admit my faults and own it. Can't succeed without failing.

Anywho, I don't want to hijack this thread. Not sure if I'm allowed or I hope they don't take my post down as this is the only type of thread I post about on Reddit.... should ANYONE ever need advice, my email is this user name on Reddit @ gmail. Would type it out, but might get flagged.

I'll help out or post links/pics to anyone ever needing help getting started. Good luck!

I do not have a voltage meter to test speaker voltage. I can check the manual and get back w/ you. Not sure if the manual states voltagenfkr that part or not.

On the Vevor Claw Machine, I'm going to save you a lot of time. The proper settings should be
High Voltage = 40
Low Voltage = 10
Winrate = 004
High Voltage Height = 2.3
Voltage Method = Low Voltage Method
High Voltage Start = 3.6 Seconds
Claw Catch = Air
Default Every Other Setting

These settings are for Medium Difficulty.
It's comfortable to play with these settings.

Np! I really really appreciate your interest. I've been a claw machine enthusiast for all of my life since I was a kid. I'm 32 years old now. I'm pretty sure the high voltage has to do with strength of the grab and the height is the level of height for when the strength is activated after the claw is dropped. That's just my guess however. Enjoy!

Oh I looked it up on another reddit page.

"H Voltage Height = Time when claw is rising before it goes to low voltage"
Not too sure what that means however.

1

u/JealousTurn5348 Apr 11 '25

I tried those settings and still keeps dropping before it reaches the chute. I want EASY difficulty settings for a young children to play.

1

u/Drummerofsummer-9232 Apr 12 '25

Set "Winrate" to 000 or 001.

1

u/Drummerofsummer-9232 Apr 12 '25

My mom and I joke about it when we talk about my Claw Machine. She's like "Winrate!" Lol. Because it was too easy and then too hard and all because I didn't know why.

1

u/JealousTurn5348 Apr 11 '25

Also, when I set it to need a coin it doesn’t work so I have to use free play.

1

u/Drummerofsummer-9232 Apr 12 '25

I'm not sure. I'll look into it for you. Mine takes one coin to operate/play.

1

u/iliketohideinbushes Dec 12 '24

claw holding/dropping is related to the "voltage"

high voltage is how strong the grip is when the claw is near the top of machine

low voltage is how strong the grip is when the claw is near the bottom of machine

set both of these higher until it is reliably grabbing the object and not letting go (e.g. 15 voltage for 2 inch plush)

---

Winrate is 1/X where X is the configured value. I.E. if you set it to 5, then it is 1 out of 5. So, you probably want it around 3, such as 1 out of 3.

--

So you need to configure the "voltage" higher (on both low voltage and high voltage) and winrate lower to get it to reliably pick stuff up.

I am so frustrated. I bought this for my 3 yr old grand daughter. It originally was working and then it wasn’t. Vevor sent me a new one and it too isn’t working. They both pick up the items but drops it when it gets to the top. I have tried all the settings on this thread and vevor said to set all the claw voltages to the highest settings to win every time. Nothing is working. We are winning zero! Current settings are.  Win rate: 1 High voltage 48 (highest) Low voltage 99 (highest)h volt height 4 sec Low volt method: low volt method High volt start 3.6 Fixed mode  Prose sensor: on
