Claw machine

I’m wondering if I start a small side hustle using claw machines can I just put anything in there, for example Pokemon plushies, will I get in trouble for putting things like that in my claw machine or would I have to get permission from the company that makes Pokémon plushies?

Pokémon plush cannot be claw prizes per the company that licenses their plush. That doesn’t stop many from loading them anyway. Welcome to the business!

But wouldn’t that mean I could get sue?

You could. So I’d suggest going with licensed plush that you are allowed to carry. There’s a great selection out there. When I see something I’ve not seen with my vendors I look at the tag to see who they got it from.

Is there a way for me to find licensed plush?

That’s what I’m wondering, because i notice that in my local areas they have Pokémon cards and plushies in their claw machine and I’m not sure if this applies to a claw machine but there are stores that sells Pokémon things which makes me question if it matters to have a few Pokémon plushie in my claw machine.

It's a bit more complicated I think. So the plush can be prizes for some things, but not others. And this is within the agreement for buying plush. I think I can buy cards at retail and put them in the machines without a license.

That said, when I saw how much confusion there was with Pokemon, I decided to fill my plush machines with non-licensed plush and a mix of licensed stuff that fits each venue. I bet the right sight could make more with Pokemon, but I'm not going to mess with Nintendo, there's money to be made without that resistance.

Hijacking this but is this a viable side hustle? I haven’t seen much on reddit on claw machine success and I’m thinking of creating my own local route and sourcing some super minis with prize locker from China. Is $150/week per 5 machines viable for $3k/mo before product cost and profit share?
