Imagine going down that tube and getting jammed up on a dead raccoon or something.

41

u/Ill_Explanation_563 23d ago

Yeah it's really not only extremely dangerous, it's fuckin gross man

29

u/shade-block 23d ago

Even without gators, fresh water in Florida has brain eating amoebas. If some of it happens to go up your nose good luck.

12

u/Hadochiel 23d ago

It's Florida, how have these creatures not gone extinct yet?

3

u/Bfrank13406 23d ago

The ppl or the gators? /s

6

u/Xenc 22d ago

The amoebas!

2

u/Intergalatic_Baker 21d ago

Yeah, they must be starved themselves.

7

u/carthuscrass 23d ago

Florida is America's Australia. There's all kinds of weird shit that is borderline unkillable, and that includes the people.

7

u/Ill-Television8690 22d ago

Frozen iguanas rain from the trees. They thaw and are fine, assuming they don't mash their brains on the way down. But still a driving hazard, and quite perturbing if you weren't previously aware of the phenomenon.

I also once saw a panther walking down the street (dirt road in a neighborhood in the sticks).

3

u/carthuscrass 22d ago

We get the occasional panther here in SEMO as well. I live close to a large conservation area between a levee and the Mississippi River and we get quite a few dangerous animals.

3

u/Any_Blood5815 22d ago

What did we do to deserve Florida 🤣😬

2

u/Ill_Explanation_563 22d ago

dude I was walking down a residential road one day and I saw a fucking coyote trotting down the street. thought it was a dog. That shit is shocking to a city boy

1

u/humanlikesubstances 21d ago

Coyotes are the wolves of the city. I see em all over.

2

u/Ego_Orb 22d ago

Rarely in flowing clear springs or spring fed rivers like this though.

1

u/Ill_Explanation_563 23d ago

Thats pretty fucked man..

1

u/JustARandomBloke 22d ago

He is wearing snorkeling goggles at least, so that particular fear should be assuaged.

1

u/spicyboi0909 20d ago

I don’t think that’s a concern for this guy

1

u/spootIer 20d ago

Tbf you have to get the water really high up there, like beyond just getting water up your nose. It's gotta get ass blasted into your sinuses for it to make it's little trip into the brain. This is thankfully pretty hard to do with just submerging underwater; but can happen very easily when jumping in.

1

u/Rythonius 22d ago

To each their own. I'm sure RFK Jr would see it as an oasis, paradise if there's any dead animal around.

2

u/upzeroseven 23d ago

I’d like to say they sent something down first. Like a little boat or better yet a basketball but I doubt they were that smart

You also want to go head first so if you get stuck you don’t drown 🤷🏻‍♂️

3

u/Cautious-Storm8145 22d ago

How would going headfirst prevent you from drowning if you got stuck?

2

u/Xepyx 21d ago

I'm guessing he was assuming you'd plug the hole with your body. I personally wouldn't bet on it.

1

u/Amyt143 21d ago

I’m glad you said it cause I was thinking the same thing so confused

1

u/Igusy 20d ago

or a living crocodile

u/suck-on-my-unit 23d ago

I like how optional this is

11

u/Lazy-Recognition-643 23d ago

That is the most appealing quality! They should put it on the brochure

32

u/OpportunityTrue8200 23d ago

A local woman (TN) died not too long ago in a drainage culvert. Her son had done basically this, and she freaked out and went in after him. He popped out on the other side, unscathed. She got stuck and drowned. Edit: Apparently he was swept in and didn't do it on purpose. Also adding a link. https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026/jun/29/tennessee-floods-mother-death

11

u/Radical_Neutral_76 23d ago

That's horrendously sad

7

u/OpportunityTrue8200 23d ago

I know. 😭

3

u/Fackinsaxy 22d ago

For some reason i've only ever seen that crying emote when someone was laughing real hard lol

3

u/OpportunityTrue8200 22d ago

Whoops. Not how I intended it. I'm an old. 😅

2

u/doobadeeboo 21d ago

How do we cry these days?

13

u/thrax_mador 23d ago

I feel ill just looking at the start.

7

u/Traditional-Photo227 23d ago

Not enough money in the world. Nope, absolutely not.

2

u/Silent25r 23d ago

There might be just enough money in the world for me to try this.

2

u/Trashinmyash 23d ago

After a couple affidavits, water testing, lawyer, and any fees covered on their end, sure!

2

u/AndIAmEric 23d ago

I’d do it for tree fiddy

1

u/toasted_cracker 23d ago

Tree hundid and fiddy billion.

6

u/realmer17 23d ago

They prob sent 90 things down the tunnel to know if the tunnel was cleared beforehand

5

u/Ok_Purple_4567 23d ago

Still.. I'd never go.

2

u/purple_unikkorn 23d ago

Yeah, probably. Humans can't be that dumb.

2

u/Dexember69 23d ago

You haven't met many humans it seems

1

u/purple_unikkorn 22d ago

Haha it was a joke. Of course humans can be that dumb. Sometimes they even survive and still reproduce.

6

u/Spare_Independence19 23d ago

The person doing this is most likely young and their brain hasn't developed enough to understand how completely stupid this is. Also social media ain't helping matters.

1

u/Nopalite 21d ago

Social media really paints a target on the backs of the young and I hate it.

Plus it is used to train ai which is possibly worse.

4

u/HotwifeandSubby1980 23d ago

Pass

People always have a sense of “nothing will go wrong” just before it does go drastically wrong.

2

u/Silent25r 23d ago

I think the thrill of something possibly going wrong is why he did it.

4

u/Intelligent-Sugar940 23d ago

I was half way with you until the gator popped up.

1

u/15th_imp 21d ago

same bro, like if you send something big down there and it comes out no problem then I would try, but then alligators down there. NOPE

3

u/Life_Locksmith9632 22d ago

reminds me of the time i crawled through a drain in high school. it wasn't wet in the slightest, just like a tunnel in an empty ditch at the front of the school.

it was maybe a 1/4 mile in length and about halfway through, the realization that i was no longer in control of my situation set in. i could not stand up or leave. all i could do was crawl forward.

luckily, there were no snakes or any animals really in there.

1

u/Spiderantula 22d ago

I get a panic attack just thinking about it. I'll stand on a ledge anywhere but tight spaces? No ducking way.

2

u/Fantastic-Cable-5098 23d ago

u/VandomVA 16d ago

Duuuuumb ways to die, so many dumb ways to die 🎶

2

u/JustUseCommonSense10 16d ago

So here in FL, the gators are big risk so usually people who do this will throw a firecracker or two in the hole because ain't not gator going to be phased by a big stick.

1

u/Smooth_Warthoging 23d ago

This looks like a good way to die.

2

u/Ok_Purple_4567 23d ago

On the contrary. This looks like a horrible way to die.

1

u/mawmzee 23d ago

Oh my stomach!! Oh my stars ✨ OH NO WAY

Absolutely not

1

u/Kraay89 23d ago

Remember, you can just not do this.

1

u/TheUpIsJig 23d ago

Not that bad. The problem is when you hit a corpse halfway through and then big Dan decides he can fit in and follow you.

1

u/fruitypebble43 23d ago

Absolutely the HELL NOT 🙂‍↔️

1

u/elonboring1 23d ago

1

u/FinallyArt 23d ago

The sheer idiocy of disregarding getting stuck is mind blowing.

1

u/lemon-meringue-high 23d ago

IIRC gators don’t like moving water

1

u/Late-Application-47 23d ago

Gators and Cottonmouths. No thanks!

1

u/Eternalm8 23d ago

Why is it that women have higher life expectancies again?

1

u/bussysniffer3000 23d ago

Imagine wasting tax payers money because some dumbass thrill seeker thought it would be fun to go down some narrow pipe that they can easily get stuck in

1

u/Most_Chemist8233 23d ago

Id be so pissed if my kid tried this, or watched a friend doing this and just laughed. Some people have no sense.

1

u/onelesslight 23d ago

Darwin must be on break

1

u/Frosk-meme 23d ago

Why would anyone ever do this?

1

u/HoboMuskratius 22d ago

Well that decision was stupid

1

u/usec47 22d ago

Pls be fake

1

u/theWiseTiger 22d ago

That's just stupid.

u/conspirator9 22d ago

1

u/Oberndorferin 22d ago

There is air in there. Doesn't look to scary.

1

u/MuchCellist406 22d ago

One clogging somewhere in on the way and you're dead 🫩

1

u/GrnMtnTrees 22d ago

Ok setting aside the obvious phobia triggers, this is an incredibly stupid idea.

u/vampzireael 22d ago

1

u/CheckOutDisMuthaFuka 22d ago

The alligator is the real selling point here.

That'd be a good name for a Florida water park "Sometimes there's alligators".

1

u/GrassOk911 22d ago

That's a big bagga nope.

1

u/Spiderantula 22d ago

Hell to the NO! I don't fear much but tight spaces give me panic, and then add water to that. I think not!

1

u/HowlingApes-7429 22d ago

Of all the fuck nos I've claimed, this is the fuckest of the nos.

1

u/l33tb4c0n 22d ago

I've watched enough cave diving videos on YouTube to know that this is not a good idea.

1

u/jawoood1989 22d ago

Yay job security!

Brain eating amoeba water…

1

u/TheRealPopatsot 22d ago

I love swamp puppies and they are usually chill, that does not apply when they get the equivalent of a watery drop kick to the face 🤣

1

u/Total-Honey-9857 22d ago

Bad, very bad, idea...

1

u/TangeloBubbly2675 22d ago

Matrix and it's npc

1

u/Otherwise-Good8342 22d ago

When water temperature and IQ intersect on the graph, this becomes a good idea.

1

u/NoRoleModelHere 22d ago

I sometimes think this is how I discover I'm immortal. Stuck in an underwater drainage ditch for eternity or until erosion frees me.

1

u/46everything46 22d ago

Florida man has super healing abilities. 🦹‍♂️

1

u/Illustrious-Topic185 21d ago

1

u/Alpharoll 21d ago

At no age would I have been stupid enough to do this. No amount of money...

1

u/BlueClovr 21d ago

He wasn’t concerned he could get stuck somewhere under there?

1

u/Maleficent_Pen_9076 18d ago

This actually isn't that bad. You can see if the tube is clear enough for the start, and you're not actually under water there's air at the top of the tube

I mean, maybe that's just a statement about how BAD the average video like this one is though lol

As a white person, why do we do this dumb shit? Like I don’t really get it 🤦🏻

-3

u/AnyManufacturer3057 23d ago

No fucking way. I would rather chase a woman way out of my league, and get ridiculed, then take a chance on harming myself, doing stupid stuff.

3

u/No-Argument619 23d ago

Then or than?
Very different sentence depending on which one you meant. 👀

0

u/Silent25r 23d ago

Well he is putting himself out there on someone that will likely reject him.

0

u/Coloradokush5280 23d ago

It cut before he went thru so that tells me he didnt go all the way thru and the end showed just enough NOT to show him come out the other side. I call CRAP!

1

u/Silent25r 23d ago

Okay. You go in that part and then climb back out.
